Wooded escape chalet, 5mi to JMU, 10mi to Massanut

Welcome to La Casa del Bosque (The House in the Woods)! Situated on 10 wooded acres and surrounded by farms on rolling hills in the heart of the Shenandoah Valley, our recently-updated 5-bedroom, 2.5 bath home is the perfect place for your getaway. We are just 15 minutes from JMU and downtown Harrisonburg, and 25 minutes from Massanutten. Take a walk on the trail, birdwatch, visit a neighboring vineyard, or chase sticks with your pup--- there are so many ways to unwind at La Casa del Bosque! The space We have taken inspiration from some of our favorite places in Mexico to enrich your stay. You'll also have full access to the top two floors of the house that has a fully furnished kitchen, washer and dryer, wifi, a workspace, and our expansive outdoor area. There is ample parking for 4+ vehicles, and plenty of space for outdoor fun. Guest access You'll have the main floor and second floor all to yourself, along with the outdoor areas. Your hosts do live in the basement of the home, but they won't share any spaces with you. Other things to note We want to be as welcoming as possible to animal family members, however, due to the hosts’ allergies we unfortunately can’t accept any feline friends. We have a two dog limit (maybe three if they all get along).
