'Big Moose' is a bright, airy cottage in the woods of Bass Harbor just down the street from the famous picturesque Bass Harbor Lighthouse. Enjoy the large tub/shower after a day of hiking and sight seeing. Outdoor grill and fire pit. Minutes to several of Acadia's hikes and sites, restaurants, the quaint seaside towns of Bass Harbor and Southwest Harbor, and a scenic 30 minute drive to Bar Harbor! We're happy to allow pets upon request for a $150 fee paid separately through Airbnb after booking. The space The main floor is an open concept family room/kitchen/dining room and filled with light. There is a washer and dryer, full bathroom with large tub/shower. The second floor bedroom is a cozy space with a built in twin bunk and built in queen bed. The top (3rd) floor bedroom has a king bed, half bath, wall of windows, and a deck with a view of the treetops and the brightest stars! The spiral staircase connecting the three floors came out of an old mansion in Bar Harbor. Outdoors there is about an acre and a half of woods where you can roam and relax. Entertain with the outdoor grill, campfire pit, or hammock, and spend time with the birds, squirrels, and deer that meander through. The kayaks are available for your use. Several beautiful lakes and ocean inlets for kayaking are within a 10-20 min drive. Within 15 min are several restaurants, lobster pounds, shops, etc. Guest access Guests have access to all parts of the property except for the garage and RV. A sketch of the property lines is included in the cottage binder. Other things to note There are kayaks and a paddleboard available for guest use. Use of the kayaks and paddleboard are at your own risk, we cannot take responsibility for the condition or safe use of the boats. If you would like rentals with instruction or a guided boating experience, there are excellent options at Long Pond (the National Park Canoe & Kayak Rentals) and in Bar Harbor (many choices)
