2 kingsize en-suite rooms, sleeps 4 - The Smithy's Cottage offers a quaint retreat in the Suffolk Coastal Area of Natural Beauty, near to the River Orwell. Freston Forge offers flexible accommodation for family and friends. The cottage configuration has 2 en-suite king size bedrooms, garden room, and all the original character features of a 17th century timber framed cottage. A great location for a variety of countryside walks, and award-winning pubs and attractions. The space 17th century former blacksmiths cottage with character features including traditional kitchen, inglenook fireplace and private garden. Downstairs you will find a cosy living room with log burning stove, SMART TV and comfy sofa leading on to a bright garden room with dining table overlooking the private garden. The country kitchen features a range cooker as well as a utility area with washing machine and downstairs WC. Upstairs there are two bedrooms both with king size beds and en-suite shower rooms. Each bedroom also has TV and storage. The private garden has a large patio area with garden furniture and lawn to the side of the property. Guest access During your stay you will have full access to the cottage and garden as well as off street parking for two cars. Dogs are welcome at Smithy's cottage for an additional cleaning fee. We also provide the doggy essentials for your furry friends. Other things to note This is a very old 17th century timber framed building, so there are low ceiling clearances. and steep stairs. Regrettably, given the characteristics of the property, the access is not very suitable for wheelchair users. Following new fire safety guidelines from October 2023, the following information should be considered when making your booking: The two upstairs bedrooms use escape windows. Instructions and the relevant fire safety equipment is provided, however occupants of these rooms should be confident to escape the property unaided in event of a fire.
