Modern treehouse retreat--peace, views, connected
Description
Breathe deep, and look around, the Treehouse Retreat is a carefully appointed space with views on all sides of Eugene's forested landscape, the house is close to all of Eugene's recreational, culinary, and cultural amenities. Easy access to the sports stadium, and trails. Enjoy the hot tub at the forest edge and a 10 min bike to downtown. This is our family’s home (us and two tweens), and we love to share it when we’re out of town. Space will be available in closets, drawers, and refrigerator. The space The house has three bedrooms, three full baths, living room, dining room and kitchen. A spacious deck, with tasteful patio furniture, BBQ grill, and hot tub await your relaxing and entertaining in style. Please note, as is common in South Eugene, our home is on a steep hill. There is parking for 1-2 cars at the top, but some guests find it tricky to back down. You’re more than welcome to park on the street where there is ample parking. There is a separate suite attached to the back of the house. This unit has its own separate entrance, and there are no shared common spaces. We often rent that space out to traveling nurses, and strive to select individuals who are quiet and respectful. As the unit shares a wall with the main house, you might hear some light talking. In the extremely rare occasion that this is an issue, I’m happy to reach out to the renter and ask them to keep their voice down. While this is our personal home, rest assured we keep a separate set of linens, towels, pillows, etc. You’ll note a terrarium in one of the bedrooms. Rest assured, its occupant lives elsewhere during your stay! Guest access You are welcome to use any of the spaces in the main home with the exception of the garage. In each room at least one drawer and additional closet space will be available, ensuring you have the room to completely unpack and make yourself comfortable. We’ve left these drawers and closets open. Please make yourself a home in the kitchen as well. We’ll leave out coffee beans in the grinder, some seltzers in the fridge, and all the basics for survival are around (mugs, plates, flatware, pots, pans, bottle openers etc). We’d love it if you pop your things in the dishwasher on your way out, but no long list of check out duties here. Just wishes for a smooth stay and a safe trip home! Other things to note Our cat Piú (Italian for “more” as in "more food, please") is outdoor/indoor, and has food/water/litter box in the garage. If you see a (very) robust grey and white kitty outside the house, or on the deck, this is him. Please ignore his insistence that he has never been fed or must come inside, neither are true. Recently, a sweet white Persian has also tried to join our home. He’s delightful, persistent, and has a loving home in the neighborhood. Please ignore. Finally, the hillside behind our home is a major roosting site for the (sizable) South Eugene wild turkey population. Watching them fly up to their treetop roost nightly, or sail back down in the morning, is pure magic.
