First and foremost, the storm cabins at Lykling are an accommodation offer for those who want an experience unlike anything else. Located in the old gold mining area where Norway's largest gold mining industry took place in the late 1800s and right next to the farmyard of Gullvegen Gardstun, with the ocean to the west as the closest neighbor. The view is 360 degrees. Here you get the most beautiful sunsets and the harshest autumn storms up close. Here the ocean dances as only the ocean can. You can lie down and watch the sea eagle that circles over the area, or dream away when the magical starry sky reveals itself on fine nights. Nice or bad weather, - it is regardless a strong experience to get so close to nature! Other things to note This is what the storm huts are like: The round shape is based on the traditional igloo and gammad shape that has been used by humans in the North for several thousand years. The shape means that strong gusts of wind do not find any place to take hold, and that the wind thus slips over. The deck they stand on is anchored firmly in the mountain with storm-proof pillars. They are made of specially made, unbreakable glass and with insulated wooden floors. They are decorated with tasteful furnishings with the aim of giving you a luxurious feeling close to nature. Here is of course a heat pump for heating on cold days and for cooling on hot days. Just outside you'll find a toilet room with a combustion toilet and a pump sink. Inside the igloo you will find, among other things, a fridge, binoculars, bed, chairs and Wi-Fi. Everything is in place for a good experience. But you have to create the good mood yourself! Food/cooking: Bring your desired drinks and food. There will be an outdoor barbecue available. And indoors there is a small "mini" kitchen with fridge and kettle, where you can make simple food and store your food and drinks.
