Historic room in Royal Mile flat
Historic room in Royal Mile flat
Description
A special room in a special flat in a special place! In a quiet green court by the Royal Mile, it was built 250 years ago and the bedroom has original plasterwork; but the flat is spacious, modernised and comfortable. And it's in the city centre! The space This is a large room in an exceptionally attractive flat in a historic building the Old Town, right in the centre of the city. It's just 5 minutes walk from Waverley rail station and ten minutes from the Scottish Parliament, in a quiet green courtyard off the Royal Mile. The flat is in a modernised eighteenth century building. The room has a double bed, a desk and a comfortable arm chair. It is located next to the bathroom. The facilities are good - but note that there's no lift/elevator and the front door is three floors up a spiral staircase - young children say it's like a castle! The kitchen is homely, convenient and large enough for table and chairs. It also features a remarkable 250-year-old decorative panel. Use of a bicycle (or two) comes with the flat. Parking near the court is free from 6.30 pm til 8.30 am; after that there's an NCP car park five minutes walk away plus metered on-street parking. I can let out the room when I know that I won't need to be here and because that depends on other members of my family I can't predict that very far ahead - normally two or three months ahead is OK. Guest access Guests will share access to all parts of the flat except the second bedroom which is upstairs in the attic. During your stay I will meet you and show you around the flat.
