Situated on a quiet lane between three family temples, it's a five minute walk to some of Ubud's finest dining venues. Avoid the crush and walk wherever you need to go. Surprisingly spacious two story townhouse with attached garden courtyard, and expansive views down to the ocean. This two bedroom, two bathroom house is newly built and offers a modern kitchen / dining room, spacious lounge with views of Batukaru chain of mountains to the west and Batur to the east. Each bedroom has a teak four poster bed with quality queen mattresses, sheets and are enclosed in mosquito nets. The bathrooms have marble tiles with marble sink tops, and generous shower stalls. The bedrooms have AC, but the rest of the house is naturally cooled by the breezes through the big double windows that also let in lots of natural light. The house is surrounded by three family temples and you glimpse the neighbors make their daily offerings throughout the day. The house has touches of Balinese and Indonesian craftsmanship throughout and its design was inspired by Dutch colonial architecture. The whole house is available for the guests, including a wonderful, breeze filled living room with amazing sunset views filled with white herons heading home at dusk; a great private courtyard; a fully equipped kitchen and two wonderful big bedrooms with attached bathrooms. There's no car parking available on the street or the house, but we can arrange for something if you have a car on a parallel road. We are more than happy to help with suggestions during your stay. We provide a book with our picks for things to do, see, buy and eat around Ubud in the house, but we are ready to suggest other activities and places depending on your needs. We will come in every 4 days to change sheets and sweep if you are staying with us for a longer period. The village of Ubud is best on foot so you can take advantage of the little lanes and explore all the shops and temples. The house is located right in downtown Ubud- within a three minute walk to the central crossroads and markets. We are seconds away from the famous suckling pig of Ibu Oka and the traditional Ubud market- great for foodies. We are also within walking distance of Radiantly Alive yoga studio, the main Ubud Palace with nightly dance performances, the major Ubud temples, the Monkey Forest, and some of the best restaurants on the island. There is no better location to be if you want to walk everywhere in Ubud- from the famous Campuhan ridge and temple, to the Monkey Forest and local yoga studios- everything can be reached on foot. If you'd like to rent a bicycle or motorbike, we can help you. Or you can ask us to organize a car for longer day trips beyond Ubud. This is a great opportunity to experience life in a traditional Balinese village. Expect to see local families going about their daily lives starting early in the morning and the sounds of dogs, chickens, motorbikes and kids playing. No rice field views but a five minute walk will have you in the middle of them. House isn't suitable for children under 10 years owing to the low windows (starting at 40cm off floor) on top floor. Babies that aren't mobile are very welcome!
