The space This unique cottage is one of the remaining traditional Bliss construction log homes with open log beams, knotted pine ceiling and rough-cut interior cedar walls throughout. There are two independent classic lake stone wood burning fireplaces, one in the dining area and a second in the living room. The loft area over the kitchen is an area that we have dedicated to our grandchildren, but there is a table there that can be used for anyone unlucky enough to have to catch up on work. It has a great view of the beach and Lake Michigan, if you think you can look out and still get your work done. We were fortunate enough to find the beautiful Rittenhouse harvest table that is great for a family gathering at mealtimes. Guest access You will not have access to the garage proper but will have access to its foyer as you gain access to the 2nd bathroom and the laundry facilities. Although there is copious parking space, access from there to cottage entrance is not necessarily handicap friendly. There is no allowed access to garage and the "Lodge" (3rd bedroom) above unless prior accommodations have been made for an additional nightly fee. Other things to note The 3rd BR (The "Lodge") is located in the upper level of the garage proper, over the 2nd bathroom/laundry area. It is outfitted with two twin beds and a sitting area. This space is available for additional guests, over and above the basic four (4) we list as being able to accommodate. There is an additional fee, as listed, for the use of this additional 3rd BR.
