Nestled between gently rolling farmland, horse pastures and the serene Green Mountains, this beautiful 1783 Vermont farmhouse offers both historic charm and the updated comforts and elegance of modern life. Look no further for your tranquil respite from the hustle and bustle of daily life. This farmhouse is ideal in all seasons, offering a breathtaking fall foliage, snow covered open meadows, and lots of greenery in the spring and summer. There are boundless hiking and skiing options nearby. The space Our home is a fully restored 1783 farm house on 4 acres, 2 miles from the town of Brandon, 15 miles from Middlebury College, and a short drive to Pico and Killington. Set atop a hill, our home is surrounded by picturesque farmland with mountain views of both the Green Mountains and Adirondacks. A deep sense of history is evident in hand hewn beams, wood floors, and other features from the original farmhouse. There are four full bedrooms, three full baths and two half baths. We require a 3 night minimum stay. Approaching the home from a circular driveway, guests walk onto a spacious, three season porch before entering through a mudroom to store your winter or summer gear. A small half bathroom is adjacent to the entry room. The first floor comprises an open kitchen/dining area with a small sitting arrangement. A breakfast bar has room for three, too. The kitchen is suitable for gourmet cooking and includes a multi-burner Aga gas stove. The large dining room table seats 8. A wet bar and wine refrigerator are additional amenities. Next to the kitchen/dining/sitting area is a cozy family room with a large, L-shaped couch tucked beneath a wall of windows. A flat screen tv makes this spot an ideal place to unwind. Moving from the dining room to the front of the house, you enter another large living room. This formal, 18'x20' living room includes a large sofa and comfortable lounge chairs. A full bath is located a few steps away. Another first floor room includes a sofa and a large desk. Two different stairs give you access to the second floor, where all four bedrooms can be found. The master bedroom offers exposed beams, lots of light, along with closet space, and a luxurious full bathroom. That bathroom includes a walk in shower, separate bathtub and two sinks. Other second floor bedrooms include: 1) a spacious room with a queen bed, desk, and half bath, 2) another bedroom has a queen bed and large desk, and 3) a small bedroom with two adult sized twin beds. The second floor has a full bathroom and a laundry room. The property's grounds are just as stunning as the home. You can stroll among the apple orchard, sit at a picnic table underneath century old trees, or walk nearby trails. Guest access Guests will have full access to the house. Other things to note Pets are not allowed at this property. Furthermore, only kids aged 2 and above.
