1 BR Compartments in beautifully restored Pullman

Step back in time to the glory days of luxurious railroad travel. Hop aboard our Pullman Railroad Car and immerse yourself into a uniquely themed railroad overnight experience in an authentic Pullman Single Compartment BR. We have restored the rooms down to the smallest of details, and added modern amenities such as WIFI and televisions! Located in the Historic District of Dennison, Ohio we are close to museums, Amish Country, Tappan Lake and many other attractions. Breakfast is included. The space OUR BEDROOMS ARE HISTORIC PULLMAN COMPARTMENTS! * The Bedrooms are real Pullman Compartments and the beds are either Pullman Berths that pull down, or lower seating which can be converted into beds. * You have your choice of a Single Room which is a Single Compartment or a Double Room which is a Suite where two Compartments have been joined. SINGLE COMPARTMENTS: * In a Single Compartment the lower seating has a table for dining or relaxing with upholstered seating for two on each side. * The Upper Berth will already be pulled down for one person to sleep above. Access to the berth is from a movable ladder of 4 steps. You will have to then climb up into the Berth, similar to a bunk bed. * For the second bed, guests can remove the center tables and convert the lower seats into the second bed. Directions will be provided. For small children, we recommend them sleeping in the lower berth with an adult or another child. Due to the historical nature of the berths, the upper berths are not recommended for guests over 300 lbs. SUITES OR DOUBLE COMPARTMENTS: A Suite is composed of two adjoining Compartments. In the Suite, you use one Compartment as a separate seating area, and the second Compartment for sleeping. The sleeping compartment can have an upper and lower bed, similar to the Single Compartments. If you are using an upper berth, you will have fun climbing up a ladder! If you need a second bed, you will need to convert the seating benches into a berth. Directions will be provided. The berths are designed for one adult only. This rule must be strictly followed. AMENITIES: The entire Pullman has been completely restored and opened July of 2022. We have restored all the original hardware, woodwork and lighting fixtures, added some really fun history with artifacts and artwork, and then introduced modern amenities. Each Compartment has the following: * Center laminated table * Private hand sink * 32 inch smart tv * WIFI * Heating and air conditioning * Reupholstered seating * Movable ladder for berths. * Reproduction Pullman Blankets. BATHROOMS: The Pullman has three half bathrooms that are shared with visitors. A full bathroom with Shower is also available, and will be shared with easy security on the door for privacy. Full bathroom amenities include: * Locally made themed soap * Blower Dryer * Shampoo, Conditioner, Body Wash. * Extra Towels. HOSPITALITY ROOM: The Pullman also features a Hospitality Room where visitors can help themselves at any time. Highlights in the Hospitality Room include: * Free cold bottled water * A wide variety of coffee and creamers * Disposable coffee cups and lids * Wine glasses and wine openers are also available for your convenience * Games that can be taken to your Compartment PATIO: For your relaxation, there is a small patio and furniture outside the Pullman Car, on the Hospitality Room end or west end of the car. BREAKFAST: The Pullman is a Bed and Breakfast, so this meal is included in your package. Breakfast will be available Tuesday through Saturday in the Dennison Depot's Over the Rail Diner, only a short outdoor walk from the Pullman. The Diner opens at 7a.m. Tuesday through Saturday. On Sundays and Mondays, a breakfast basket will be delivered to your door between 10 and 10:30 am. DINING: There are some really good local restaurants in Dennison. * Over the Rail Diner inside the Depot offers local dining favorites,: breakfast, sandwiches, salads, dinner ad more. The restaurant hours are Tuesday through Saturday. Tuesday through Thursday, and Saturday: 7a.m. to 2p.m. Fridays 7a.m to 7p.m. * The Dennison Yard, just down the street, is a 4th generation Italian pub with great Italian pasta, salads, pizza and cocktails. * Pangrazio's, one street over from the Depot, is another local Italian Favorite on Grant Street. * There are many other great restaurants we are happy to refer you to in Tuscarawas County. ACTIVITIES: The Pullman is located in the Historic District of Dennison, Ohio, a village in Tuscarawas County. Dennison is located exactly halfway between Pittsburgh and Columbus and forty minutes south of Canton. There are many avenues of entertainment while staying at the Pullman. Some of these include: * The Polar Express in December * Amish Country in Tuscarawas and Holmes County * Tappan and Atwood Lakes * Tuscora Park in New Philadelphia * Trumpet in the Land Outdoor Theater in New Philadelphia * Many Local Festivals. HISTORY LOOP: The Depot is part of a local History Loop that offers a discounted Triple Ticket to three museums and discounts to their gift shops. All three museums have an entertaining Scavenger Hunt for kids allowing them to collect charms on a dog tag to take home. Stops on the History Loop include: * The Dennison Railroad Depot Museum * The Clay Capital Heritage Center in nearby Uhrichsville, Ohio * Historic Schoenbrunn Village in nearby New Philadelphia. * Other museums nearby include Warther's Museum and the JE Reeves Victorian Home in Dover, Historic Zoar Village and Fort Laurens in Zoar. REGIONAL ATTRACTIONS: Dennison is also a great hub for regional attractions such as: * Roscoe Village in Coshocton * The Football Hall of Fame, First Ladies Library and Canton Museum of Art in Canton * The Massillon Museum in Massillon * Those interested in a day trip can head to Cleveland for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Cleveland History Museum, Cleveland National History Museum, Cleveland's world renowned Art Museum and Little Italy. Sports lovers can head to a Guardian's or Brown's game. CONCIERGE SERVICE: During open hours of the Museum, Depot staff will be happy to provide you with tourism information and suggestions. Depot Museum hours are: Tuesday through Friday 10a.m. to 5p.m., Saturdays 11a.m. to 4p.m. and Sundays 11a.m. to 3p.m. Closed on Mondays. Guest access Guests will have access to their own reserved Compartments, a half Bathroom assigned to your party, the Full Bathroom, the Hospitality Room and outdoor patio. Guests have the opportunity to use a local Gym located within a three block distance by advance request. Other things to note IMPORTANT INFORMATION: The bedrooms are traditional Pullman Railroad Compartments, and therefore, not as large as commercial hotel rooms. Please refer to the photographs. Please be aware that the beds are traditional Pullman Sleeper Car berths and mattresses - similar in size to a Twin Bed. They are wider than a twin bed, but a tad shorter. Beds are 35 inches wide and 69 inches long. Mattresses are berth mattresses and not as thick as modern mattresses. There is no box spring, but there are mattresses toppers available upon request. Due to the historical design of the Pullman, we do not recommend very young children sleeping in the upper berths. Again, there is no railing to ensure a guest will not roll out. Each berth is designed to hold one adult. Only small children can join an adult in the lower berth. Due to the historical nature of the berths, the upper berths are not recommended for guests over 300 lbs. Guests cannot add additional folks in the room. The upper berths require the ability to climb a four run ladder, and climb up onto the bed - similar to climbing into a bunk bed. There are no railings on the upper berth to keep visitors from falling out. Please be aware that the Pullman is parallel to a live railroad track on the Hallway side, which can add to the ambiance. However, a freight train can pass, even in the middle of the night, and you will hear the train and feel the vibration.
