The Troyeville House was was built in 1902 on a ridge overlooking the Johannesburg inner city. It's now a heritage site immersed in the eclectic inner city neighbourhood of Makers Valley, a 'microcosm' of South Africa and the world. This Victorian mansion is now owned by Akoma, a high impact development company, which has its offices located at the house. A mere 1km from vibrant Maboneng, the house is a hub that plays host to a range of events including music, poetry and movie screenings. The space The Troyeville House is a Changemakers Residence that is also a permanent home for artists and students alike. We share the kitchen, bathroom, laundry facilities, lounge areas, co-working space and gardens. Our gorgeous fixtures, furniture and functional fireplaces are perfect for the nostalgic traveller. The house is also 120 years old; please take care when interacting with the space. We are the custodians of this beautiful home and would love ensure that the next generation is also able to enjoy it.
