The area is best described as peaceful and convenient. Spacious master suite on main floor has king size bed. Upstairs is a cozy converted loft with one private room with full size bed and one open loft bedroom with two twin beds. We even have a poured concrete walk-in tornado shelter off master suite. Peaceful and quiet, you and your family or friends will enjoy this cozy home. Downstairs features a well supplied kitchen, dining room, and living room with piano and large screen tv. The master suite with private bath and shower is off the living room. Also off the master bath is a walk-in closet made with poured concrete for walls and ceiling to serve as tornado shelter. Full bath and laundry is also on first floor. Up a steep set of stairs you will find a converted loft area. The ceilings here are low, so taller guests need to watch out. The open loft room has a short wall, so young children need supervision to be sure they don’t fall over and down the stairs. Entire home with keypad entry. We live next door, across the lawn to the west. We are usually home and love to visit with guests who want to chat, but we respect the privacy of those who want their alone time. We do travel often, but do our best to always be available by phone. Beautiful and safe neighborhood with expansive lawns. Easy drive to town. You will need a car! Uber availability is spotty. We are 5 miles south of SIU and the downtown area of Carbondale with all the eateries and shopping. In the other direction we are 5 miles from Giant City Park and its beautiful hiking trails. We are within easy driving distance to the Southern Illinois Wine Trail, Garden of the Gods State Park, as well as the bike trail and numerous other Shawnee National Park trails.
