One of a kind Earthen Roundhouse, offgrid

Completely offgrid, on our gorgeous 65acre property, this roundhouse is halfburied in the ground. Sandbag retaining walls, stunning reciprocal roof and everything upcycled or harvested on site. A labour of love and determination, every inch of this structure has a story to tell and inspiration to share. Adorned with rustic and vintage second life decor, you will feel comfy, cozy and delighted in this adorable space. Passive cooling design will keep you cool on hot summer days. The space This is a one room house (size of a yurt) with a large area for kitchen and living room. Sleeping area (bedroom) is blocked off by old vintage door barrier. There is a queen size bed. (Must bring own bedding - see Other details to note) There is running water but guests are encouraged to use water from the gravity fed storage tank. (We'll explain everything to you :) House is powered by solar electricity- including the medium sized refrigerator (with little freezer inside)! Guests use the private outhouse outside. There is a shower inside which is a DIY bucket shower on a pulley system. (We'll explain how that works too :) Overall, gorgeous diverse landscape with pine plantation, mixed wood forest, wildflower meadows and more. Guest access - We are not able to allow road vehicles to the Roundhouse area so we ask everyone to park in the parking lot and walk over to the Roundhouse- very close. And there are a couple carts available to transport your luggage. - The Hastings Heritage trail borders our property so you have easy access to kilometers of hiking routes with plenty of wildlife and nature to explore. Other things to note ☆ Please bring your own bedding, including pillows and comforter (for a queen size bed). As we are fully off-grid and do not have laundry on-site we cannot provide bedding at this time. Thank you☆ ☆ This is a passively cooled structure. We have a fan inside that you can use for the much warmer days but people generally find it pretty comfortable. ☆ There is a wood stove inside when you might need some extra heat for any cooler days. ☆ Response time: Be advised that I typically answer messages between 8am-8pm. There is an off-chance that I might answer out of those hours but not likely. The same hours apply if you require our assistance during your stay here.
