La Forêt Retreat | Hiking Sledding Dog Friendly!

A place for personal well-being. A forest retreat cabin in the SoCal Mountains. Located between Lake Arrowhead & Big Bear. A few miles from Snow Valley Mtn Resort in a quiet mountain neighborhood, La Foret is a peaceful forest escape featuring a large primary bedroom, gorgeous fireplace, and a loft writer’s room (with excellent wifi). A place for creativity and self care. We love joy and celebration, however, this isn’t a place for parties or loud gatherings of any type. The space PRIME LOCATION 10 mi to Lake Arrowhead, 15 mi to Big Bear, a 2 min walk to seasonal Arrowbear Lake, 4 miles to Snow Valley. This is a private cabin in an incredibly quiet area of Arrowbear Lake. PRIMARY The Primary bedroom has a window looking over the forest trees in the backyard. A super comfy king size bed engulfs you as you fall asleep after a long day of exploring the mountain trails and lakes. LOFT The loft room has a queen size bed, designer linens, a closet, a writer's desk and chair for remote work, 2 yoga mats, a comfy reading chair, a record player, a selection of our favorite records, plus closet space for your belongings. KITCHEN The kitchen includes cooking essentials, a coffee maker, a Bialetti for espresso, a matcha whisk, and a table with four chairs for dining. In the warmer months, you can also take meals on the back deck (seats 4) or on the front porch (seats 2). VIBE This home is designed for relaxation and retreat, it's the perfect space for a writer's retreat, outdoor adventuring, a romantic getaway, a solo meditation experience, or a simple respite from city living. NEIGHBORHOOD The neighborhood is incredibly quiet; please be respectful of our friendly neighborhood locals. Please do not plan any parties or gatherings. 4 guests is the absolute maximum. Guest access The entire cabin, including the front porch and back deck, is all yours. We are based in Los Angeles and available via the app should you need anything at all! Other things to note We have a guidebook with restaurants, shops, hikes, and more - we hope you'll take advantage of the beauty the area has to offer! During the Winter: → 5 mins from Snow Valley → 30 mins from Bear Mountain / Snow Summit During the Summer: → 5 minutes to fishing and hiking → 12 minutes to Lake Arrowhead Peace & Quiet: This home is designed for relaxation and retreat, the neighborhood is incredibly quiet; please be respectful of our friendly neighborhood locals. Fires: This is California and wildfires are a concern for all of us. Please don’t bring devices that create fire - that include firepits, bonfire materials, or candles. Instructions for using the wood-burning fireplace are included in the app. Plumbing: This house has old plumbing; please do not flush anything other than toilet paper. Critters: Being in the mountains, critters are a part of forest living. We take many steps to keep them out and use multiple humane methods of blocking their entry, but we can't always account for the occasional critter from sneaking in through an open door. You’re sharing the great outdoors with many creatures. We encourage you to keep the kitchen tidy to keep critters at bay. Trash: Do not leave trash or food anywhere outdoors. The property is not fenced and is occasionally visited by bears, coyotes, raccoons, bats, and other creatures of predatory nature - we’ve never experienced an issue with these creatures; however, be vigilant. Checkout: When you’re ready to depart, please tie up your trash bags and either place them in the bin with the latch (close it tightly) outside or leave them in the trash bins inside if the can is full. Please pull the trash bin to the street. Please double-check all wall heaters (there are 2 upstairs and one in the bathroom) to ensure they’re in the off position. Leave the heater set on 65.
