The Nook’ is a self contained 2 bedroom cottage annex, inspired by its medieval inglenook fireplace. It is situated at the end of a long drive in a peaceful rural location. Hiking trails abound with Harlech beach, town and castle a walk away. The area has plenty to offer; steam railways, Portmeirion, sandy beaches, ZipWorld and Mt Snowdon are just a car ride away. Alternatively enjoy the Nook’s garden with BBQ/fire-pit and perhaps a game on its unique pétanque pitch or retro games machine. The space The Nook has a large lounge on the ground floor dominated by an inglenook fireplace. The fireplace has a certified log burner with logs provided for your first fire. The lounge also has underfloor heating which provides a lovely ambient heat on those cooler evenings. This space includes a dining table and chairs. A Smart TV is provided, with access to a basic SKY TV package. Guest are free to log into other streaming services. A PS4 games console is available primarily as a DVD player with a small selection of films available (feel free to bring your own games). A retro arcade machine is also provided with 516 games from the late 70s and 80s! (Space Invaders, Pac-Man etc!) A fully appointed kitchen is found off the lounge with views of the garden. The kitchen includes a dishwasher, washing machine, induction hob, microwave and hide-and-slide oven. A slow cooker and electric steamer are also provided. A right angled stairway leads to two bedrooms and a bathroom. The stairway is protected by a stair gate at the top. The double aspect master bedroom has a kingsized four poster bed. The second bedroom has two full sized (3 foot wide) single beds. The bathroom has a WC, hand basin, separate shower cubicle , full sized bath, shaver socket and heated towel rail. Guest access Guests have the full private use of The Nook. Private free parking for two cars is available directly outside the cottage ( further parking available a very short walk from the cottage if required). The Nook has its own secluded garden, with fire pit and barbecue provided. Perhaps uniquely in North Wales Penrallt boasts a pétanque pitch! (‘boules’ or in other words bowls on gravel!) available to guests of ‘The Nook’ and ‘Bluebell’ (see ‘other details to note’ below) Other things to note Guests have exclusive access to a 7kW ‘Zappi’ type 2 electric vehicle charge point. If you would like to use the charger please let us know on arrival and we can confirm the price for you per kWh based on prevailing local tariffs*. Usage is recorded via the Zappi app and payable either during or at the end of your stay, whichever is more convenient. *(Current price per kWh is 50p) There is a Tassimo coffee maker in the house - we provide a selection of pods but you may wish to bring your own favourites! We provide firelighters, logs and charcoal for both fires and bbq, so you are all set to go on your arrival, further logs and charcoal can be purchased from us (on a help yourself/honesty system) or are available from the local Premier Store in Harlech and supermarkets locally. We may have guests staying in our Shepherd’s Hut, ‘Bluebell’ which is hidden away in an old orchard. Bluebell is a walk of about 80m from The Nook on the far side of our barns. The garden spaces are separate and private so you are only likely to meet on the pétanque pitch!
