Wildcat Rocks Cabin is a lovely, recently updated, modern-yet-rustic cabin located in a peaceful setting smack in the middle of the Blue Ridge mountains. Our home is able to sleep 8 people so bring the whole family! We also have kid stuff since we use this house regularly with our kids. We have a high chair, pack and play, and kids kitchenware available to all guests. PETS Pets are welcome for a $25 pet fee, per pet, per stay regardless of stay length. This fee is charged in addition to your booking fee and will be viewed at checkout if you add pets to your reservation. 1 pet is $25, 2 pets is $50 and so on but Airbnb is only capable of charging one $25 fee. We will charge you manually for additional pets via the Airbnb platform. Ask if you have any questions! If evidence of pets is found once the guest leaves and guests did not notify us here, they will be charged a $250 penalty fee. Guests can choose to bring pets after booking but must notify us so we can charge the pet fee prior to arrival. Thanks! THE LAYOUT DRIVEWAY/PARKING: Snow chains/tires or 4WD vehicles are REQUIRED during inclement weather by the Town of Seven Devils! Check the forecast before arrival! The driveway is very steep and short. It can fit two cars comfortably. You can fit more cars but one will be behind the other cars. Parking on the road is prohibited by the Town of Seven Devils. MAIN LEVEL Upon arrival, you will enter into the main floor living room, kitchen, dining area and electric fireplace/heater. This floor is home to two bedrooms, one bedroom with a queen bed and one bedroom with two sets of bunk beds with twin mattresses for a total of 4 twin mattresses. There is also one full bath with a shower only and a washer and dryer. There is a baby bathtub located in one of the closets! *In concordance with the American Association of Pediatrics, we do not recommend children under 6 years of age use the top bunk bed. We learned this our first weekend at the cabin with an emergency trip to the ER! All guests use the bunk beds and loft area at their own risk.* KITCHEN The kitchen is FULLY STOCKED and includes a NEW Keurig coffee maker, a NEW drip coffee maker, NEW state-of-the-art tea kettle, tea, sugar, creamer, NEW Ninja blender, ground coffee and caffeinated and decaf K-cups. There is a fridge, NEW dishwasher, and toaster oven available for use as well. In the coffee table and baskets by the door there are board games for fun nights in as well as coloring books, colored pencils and crayons! SECOND FLOOR/LOFT From the main floor, you will climb a set of stairs to reach the upstairs master bedroom and loft/games area. There is an oversized, comfy couch and two arcade games - Pac-Man and Buck Hunter. The master bedroom has its own en-suite bathroom as well with shower only. Baby bathtub is usually located downstairs. TV's You are welcome to login to your own streaming TV services but we do not provide them included in the home. We have Roku enabled TV's. WARNING!!! Do not forget to logout of your streaming services when you leave! Guest access Guests will have a unique access code that can be entered on the keypad at the front and back doors. Checkin info is sent 2 days before arrival. Our driveway is very steep and fits two cars comfortably. Any more than two cars will box in the others but will fit. No parking on the street is allowed by the Town of Seven Devils. SNOW CHAINS OR SNOW TIRES ARE REQUIRED IN CASES OF INCLEMENT WEATHER. There will be no refunds issued for lack of inclement weather preparation. Please check the forecast before your arrival! Guests are responsible for any losses suffered if cleaning crew or other guests cannot access the property due to lack of snow chains, snow tires or four wheel drive vehicle. Other things to note ON DRIVING... We do NOT recommend taking Shulls Mill Rd to bypass the town of Boone unless you are very comfortable with very curvy roads and hairpin turns. Waze, Google Maps and Apple maps suggest you take it because it is quicker however, we suggest continuing on through Boone from Blowing Rock. Shulls Mill Rd is extremely curvy! ON THE AC… We have indoor heating and air. The thermostat is located on the main floor across from the fridge. Please left thermostat between 72 in summer and 74 degrees in winter. ON CELL PHONES... Most likely, your cell phone service will NOT be good! My husband (AT&T) has no service and I (Verizon) get cell service but not good data. However, we will have high-speed Wifi and a landline phone for your convenience. Landline phone has unlimited local and long distance calling. Pro Tip: Enable "Wifi Calling" on your phone before your trip if your cell phone provider offers that option. Then you can use your phone via Wifi when at the cabin! IN WINTER...SNOW CHAINS OR SNOW TIRES ARE REQUIRED IN CASES OF INCLEMENT WEATHER. Vehicles will need to be 4WD, AWD or have snow chains during winter and during inclement weather which is usually between December and March. We do have a private snow plow company to plow our driveway however, it is still required that you have a 4/all wheel drive vehicle during inclement weather. There is NO exception to this rule. Our driveway is steep and it is VERY easy to get stuck. If your car gets stuck due to lack of 4/all wheel drive or snow chains/tires being installed on your vehicle, you will be responsible for its removal and for any losses we may incur as a result of cleaners or guests not being able to access the property. FOR THE KIDDOS... Since we have small kids and use this home as well, there are many kid amenities in the house such as... -Pack and Play -High Chair -Kid stools in bathrooms -Kids' toys, coloring books and crayons and colored pencils -Kids' plates, bowls and cups in the kitchen -Audio monitor (So you can hear the kids sleeping while enjoying a glass of wine on the porch. Or is that just me? :)) -Night lights -Fancy sound machines with night lights. Feel free to move any of the night lights and sound machines around as you need to. ***Please note our house is not baby proofed. Please supervise your kiddos and pets at all times especially near the stairs, kitchen and bathrooms where cleaning items are stored under the sinks!*** FOR YOUR FURRY FAMILY MEMBERS AKA PETS... Pets MUST be leashed! The Town of Seven Devils makes and enforces this rule and our neighbors take this rule very seriously. Please do not wipe muddy pets or ski gear down with the white bath towels. If your pet makes a mess (as they often do), please notify us so we can prepare our excellent cleaners. Excessive damage to property inside or outside the home will come with a $250 fee plus damages if applicable. ON EXPECTATIONS… As you’ve read, we love pets and allow them to visit with their owners! Our cleaning specialists are EXCELLENT at their job however, unless we replace carpets monthly, it is impossible to get every bit of hair out of the carpets and couches. Please be kind. Thank you for your understanding. Also, we have a cozy, electric fireplace in the living room and a wood burning fire pit outside. Sometimes there is a wood SMOKE smell in the house no matter how good the chimney is or how much we wash the sheets. It really gets in there sometimes. Rest assured, the house is meticulously cleaned in between guests. Please chalk this up to being all part of the experience of staying in a mountain cabin in the woods! Thank you for understanding!
