Visit local wineries, farmer's markets, dining & lake activities! Sheldrake House is why we say, "Life is better at the lake!" Perfect for Cornell & Ithaca College reunions, parents weekend, leaf looking, wine trails & gatherings! With large bedrooms and plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, you can spread out on the 2.5 acres of land and 300 feet of beach front. The boat house lawn is a perfect place for croquet, badminton or volleyball - or just to lay out and soak up the sun. The guests have exclusive use of the entire property with the exception of the garage at the back of the property and beachfront south of the culvert. During the summer months, I stay in the cottage next door on the weekends and am happy to help with any questions or concerns. Closer to your reservation, I will ask for your email to send you a copy of the detailed guidelines for the house. The local residents take meticulous care of their properties and the surrounding environment. Our neighbors to the north are Franciscan Friars who quietly reside in Shadow Lawn house. You will meet some of the nicest neighbors as you walk along CR 153 or kayak on the lake. Cayuga Shoreline is a new venue within 1/4 mile to the south, where you can enjoy live music and get a bite to eat next door at O'Malley's Cabin on the Lake. In the other direction, less than a mile to the north is Sheldrake Winery and less than 2 miles away is Wycoff's Farm Stand loaded with fresh fruits and vegetables. Sheldrake House is perfectly situated to enjoy the peacefulness of the lake with access to local amenities, wineries, restaurants, and hikes! Easy walking distance to O'Malley's restaurant or Sheldrake Point Winery. A short drive to Ovid or Trumansburg for groceries and shopping. A little longer drive to the city of Ithaca for more amenities. A plethora of hikes and gorges to explore as you get to know the area. Make sure you contact me if you have special requests or questions regarding the number of guests who plan to stay. Accommodations are best for 8 however, for an extra fee per extra guest, there is some flexibility.
