The Innkeeper's Room is named after the founders of Innkeeper's Coffee Shop on Seminary. It has a queen size bed with new mattress, sheets, pillows, a full bath, TV, mini-frig, desk/makeup stand, and extra chairs for comfort. In addition, you have access to a full kitchen and a self-serve continental breakfast, dining room, combined front and music room, side parlor, private office, and many intimate spaces to enjoy with family and friends. At the end of your day, enjoy a glass of wine on either the front porch or back deck. Both are different experiences guaranteed to fill your emotional basket. Be sure to rub your hands over the herbal plants to fill your space with aromatic delight. When ready, retreat to your room, grab a snack and open the door to this grandiose yet quiet room. Once inside, It is important to know which room you booked. Your room will have two keys, one key for your room and the other key opens the back GUEST DOOR behind the music room. Please lock these doors when you are not using them. Also within this email will be information on the internet and other important information and house rules. The basement access is only available on request. It is a normal basement you would expect to see in a 1857 house. The laundry/storage room is for employees only unless special arrangements are made. A historical house within the historical district just minutes from downtown Galesburg. Walk to town and enjoy your own architectural tour of stunning homes in this safe and historical neighborhood. The Amtrak station is five blocks away. Walk out the front door and don't stop until you are at the station. BY TRAIN: When walking from train station, head north at the train track intersect (past building with picture on the side - Chambers Street) and you will walk right into our front door in minutes (five blocks). FROM HOUSE: It is easy to walk to downtown from the Great House. Go out the front door and walk five blocks to E. Main Street. Turn right and you are in pour beautiful downtown. Check out Seminary Street for great shopping and dining in a very nice area and be sure to check out our new Galesburg Community Art Center located in the big green build on the corner. There is a long stairway that winds towards the top. Heavy luggage will be difficult to take up. If needed, you may request a box to separate your luggage making the trip up easier. We do not allow children due to the hazard of these stairs. In addition, the house is chuck full of antiques, china, and breakable stuff that will be expensive to replace. We are sorry but homes built in 1857 were not built to be handicapped accessible. Modifications would be very difficult. Events are allowed but only with pre-arrangements. Please ask about the event fee. All the fireplaces are non-functional.
