The ocean facing deck is the perfect spot for watching for seals, sea lions and whales in the Salish Sea. There is a trail down to my private rocky beach which can be walked for kilometres at low tide. It's full of tidal pools for exploring for sea creatures. Bald eagles, herons, ducks and other waterfowl are abundant. From May to October, the Cruise Ships sail past in the evening. Or just stay on the deck and enjoy the amazing ocean view of the Salish Sea. Situated approximately 10 minutes from each of downtown Courtenay and Comox, 30 minutes to the ski hill and five minutes to the airport, The Beach Chalet is in a very quiet neighbourhood. Neighbours will smile and wave at you as you walk by. Well known Seal Bay Park can be accessed just a kilometre down the road. The Beach Chalet is situated on a no-through road so there is only local traffic. The only rush hour are the deer and the bunnies. During your visit, I stay on the ground floor of the house so you may see me coming and going but otherwise you won't even know that I'm there. But I am always available should you have any questions or concerns. A third bedroom, not included in the listing, is locked and unavailable. There are some personal belongings in the space which I know you will respect. I will be staying in the ground floor suite so will be around but make myself scarce unless you have a question. Other things to note When the wind blows in a certain direction, The Beach Chalet is on a flight path to the airport but the planes are very infrequent and don't fly during the night. But if you're lucky, you may see the F18s or the search and rescue helicopter training. And just note that if there is a heavy wind, the waves can be noisy.
