Stone-and-Style: Two Houses in One with Pool
Set among the Sintra-Cascais Natural Park and blessed with a terrific view of its iconic hilltop palaces, our home is a great option for those seeking some rural tranquility and authenticity. It is 15 minutes from some of Portugal's most dramatic and unspoiled beaches, and home to little touches that visitors will love, such as our heated, above-ground pool, a sunny patio, unique architectural features, and cosy yet stylish living spaces. The space The property consists of the main house, the guesthouse, a patio, and a greenhouse. The central indoor feature of the main house has to be the spacious, high-ceilinged kitchen/dining room, with its emblematic stone fireplace, large, fully-equipped kitchen (being renovated soon - photos to come around April), and sliding glass doors opening directly onto a secluded and cosy mini-patio. On the other side of the kitchen, there is a rear entrance with its own parking, which is perfect for easy access to the house and unloading heavy shopping directly into the fridge. The main entrance to this house features a laundry room, and here there are stairs that take you up to the master bedroom, which boasts an en-suite bathroom (with bathtub) and spectacular views of Sintra's iconic Pena Palace and Castelo dos Mouros from the balcony. As well as two more bedrooms (one twin, one double) and bathrooms, this house also features a library/study, the perfect spot for those wishing to work, teleconference, or just dip into a book. The guesthouse is joined to the main house by a charming and colourful greenhouse. It too has a stylish, roomy kitchen/living room, this time overlooked by a small mezzanine that houses two single beds. There is also a master bedroom and bathroom. The two houses are centred around a sunkissed and tree-lined patio, featuring a super-cool heated, above-ground plunge pool (we like to keep it around 29º), comfy, stylish patio furniture and even a top-of-the-range gas barbecue. Beyond the gates on the street, there should be plenty of space to keep your vehicle while you stay. Guest access Guests will have access to all parts of the property, and should feel free to park at the front and rear of the house.
