Verdant Hollow Farm Stay-Tigerman Black Barn

Enjoy the truly unique experience of staying on a working certified organic farm in the historical "Black Barn" of Verdant Hollow. The mid 1800's barn was converted to a home by renowned architect Stanley Tigerman in 1973 offering up the opportunity to retreat and relax in a bucolic setting. Sign up for a goat hike or tour, take a stroll on one of our wooded hiking trails, or simply enjoy the beautiful view of our pond from the screened gazebo. The space A one of a kind space in a 150+ year old barn turned home by Chicago architect Stanley Tigerman. Located on a working 225 acre farm where guests can learn about farm life or simply enjoy the vast views of our pond, garden, and livestock pastures. Guest access Guests have full access to the living quarters of the black barn, with limited access to two basement rooms used for farm production during business hours (1-2 staff member use these spaces and they are not open to the public). Guests can wander the property and hiking trails during daylight hours, but are prohibited from pastures and farm buildings without being accompanied by a staff member. Other things to note A great opportunity to see the workings of a real farm! At an additional cost you can sign up for a goat hike, private tour, or purchase any products seasonally available (eggs, lamb, pork, organic produce, etc.) Our Wood stove and Sauna are seasonal offerings and available when DAY time temperatures are 60 or below (typically late October-April).
