Less than a mile from UW-Stout, in the charming East Side Neighborhood, this place has perfect access to everything Menomonie! A 10-minute walk gets you right Downtown for food, drinks, shopping, and entertainment, to Wilson Park for the Farmer’s Market, or to the Rec Park for Friday evening Dirt Track Racing. A 5-minute drive and you’ll find multiple Breweries, Hiking Trails, Lake Menomin access, and more! PLEASE REVIEW ENTIRE LISTING & ALL PHOTOS BEFORE BOOKING :) The second-floor unit of a duplex built in 1875, this space is very unique with plenty of architectural quirks. Every room boasts at least one window, so it sees amazing natural light and breezes throughout the day. With two bedrooms, this place is perfect for folks looking for a summer adventure, or for families visiting their Stout student during the school year. High Speed Internet makes this place ideal for someone looking for a nice change of pace and scenery to work remotely. Guests have access to the entire second-floor apartment, accessible with keyless pin through a dedicated entrance, up a flight of 12 stairs (pictured in listing). I live and work on the property (in the lower unit), so I'm happy to greet you, help with luggage, and give recommendations if I'm around. That said, a contactless stay also works, where I'll gladly give you your space. Menomonie's East Side neighborhood has plenty of residential charm, friendly folks, and walking paths. There's plenty within walking distance (Food Co-Op, Rec Park, Mable Tainter, etc.) but a car will get you to everything else Menomonie has to offer. There's easy, free on-street parking right outside the place (weather pending). You're welcome to use the driveway around the corner with a little notice. • Owner lives in the lower unit with his cat, Zoe. The place isn't haunted—those sounds are us :) You may hear Zoe from time to time. She gets curious when people are upstairs, so please expect some occasional cat sounds. • There is a door adjoining the upper and lower unit, with security on both sides to prevent access between units. • It's an old building, and for that reason, the kitchen and bathroom ceilings are a bit lower (6' 8") than traditional. • While there's central HVAC, there's no thermostat in the upper unit. There is however, a standing A/C unit and fan-aided space heater available. The unit typically maintains a pretty temperate climate. • There is a TV with a Chromecast in the bedroom, but I do not have cable in the house. Any TV entertainment needs to be streamed to the Chromecast via your personal device or computer. • The Red Cedar Speedway is right up the road and can be heard on some Fridays in the Summer between 4:30-9:30(ish)pm. It's not very audible unless the windows are open. Check the race schedule online if the potential noise is a dealbreaker (or to pick up tickets; good dusty fun)! • The space is not child-proofed, so small children should be monitored at all times.
