Nestled in the historic valley of Porthcurno, Telegraph Cottage was once the coach house & stables for the telegraph station that connected this Cornish village to the world. Today, Porthcurno is a charming coastal community with a famous open-air theatre, a stunning beach beneath dramatic cliffs, and the award-winning PK Porthcurno – Museum of Global Communications. Visitors come here for its history, culture, and scenery — and Telegraph Cottage is the perfect base to experience it all. The space Telegraph Cottage is an old building of traditional Cornish structure and as such it has its quirks! Guest access The whole property is available to guests. Other things to note Just a little heads-up for your stay in Porthcurno — there aren’t any grocery shops in the valley itself. . Many guests like to pick up a few essentials on their way here and you will drive past several large supermarkets - Morrissons, Tesco, Sainsburys and Lidl - in Penzance. The nearest shops to the cottage are a Costcutter in Sennen and a Londis in St Buryan, both about a 15-minute drive away and not really walkable. There are some delightful shops including a small Co-op and also a Chinese takeaway in the small town of St Just about 25 minutes drive away. Some previous visitors have arranged a supermarket delivery straight to the cottage, which can be a very handy option after a long journey, but please make sure you arrange a delivery time for when you will be at the cottage.
