Relax with family or friends at this peaceful green garden country home. Located roughly 10km from Kirkjubæjarklaustur and the ring road, in the south east of Iceland. An old farmhouse with a long and unique history, serene and tranquil, secluded and beautiful. Take a trip to the past by visiting your special house, built in 1946 for a household of 15. Take the the day off in our luscious and wild garden, and make dinner in a custom built 70's kitchen. The space The house is a two story 5 bedroom farmhouse built in 1946 for a large extended family. My childhood home which my parents lived in from 1960 to 2015. Since they passed it's been a dream of mine to bring life to the house again and share it with travelers. It's renovation is an on going project but my hope is to maintain its original style and feel. Currently we have 4 bedrooms on the lower floor and a toliet, plus a laundry room. On the upper level we have 2 bedrooms, a bathroom with shower, kitchen with a big dining table and pantry, living room and book room. Guest access Guests are free to explore the entire grounds belonging to the house, seperated by a fence, the garden. Please be mindful that there are private cabins/houses in the area with private roads / areas and the farm itself belongs to another family. If in doubt please just ask and we'll inform.
