This building, popularly known as Etxetxu, was built in 1612 and is the oldest in Puerto Viejo, even older than the port itself, which was built in 1629, seventeen years later. This unique house that presides over the entrance to the upper part of the neighborhood was also the Getxo Town Hall for 22 years (from 1838 to 1860), headquarters of the Fishermen's Brotherhood and the Lemanes Sailors Piloting School. It has even been the scene of several films, the most famous being “Un poco de Chocolate” (A Little Chocolate).
