Welcome to our cozy mountain cabin. Enjoy the seclusion and simplicity of bygone days. Experience how wonderful it is to live in a nearly self-sufficient cabin with spring water and a wood-burning stove. The cabin is located on the heights of a lively Ticino valley, nestled in a rocky landscape, between chestnut trees, sparse meadows and with a magnificent view over the valley. It is only accessible by foot, approximately 45 minutes of climbing up a steep, rocky hiking trail. The space The self-sufficient cabin is located in the heights of Osogna in the Riviera Valley in Ticino. The small, mostly deserted hamlet of Cömbra is only accessible by foot in about 45 minutes of steep climbing - a perfect retreat for people seeking simplicity and wanting to experience resource-conserving holidays. At 650 meters above sea level, the cabin is nestled in a fascinating rocky landscape between chestnut trees and natural meadows with a panoramic view across the entire valley. Environment and Atmosphere: Despite its secluded location, the Riviera Valley is a lively place. The cabin does not offer absolute silence, but rather an authentic experience of Ticino rural life with typical valley sounds. For guests seeking complete tranquility, this place may not be ideal. Total living space of 35m² for 4 people divided into: Cozy, well-equipped kitchen with traditional wood stove, cold water supply from a natural spring (May-Oct), drinking water filter, and homemade clay pot cooler for food refrigeration without electricity. Two small, comfortable bedrooms: one with a double bed, one with bunk beds. Beds fully equipped with wool blankets, duvets, and pillows. Small wood stove, extra bed, hot water bottles, dresser, some books and games. Dog-friendly: Dog bed, blanket, and bowl available. Bathroom with wood-fired hot water boiler (May-Oct), solar shower, dry separation toilet, hand-operated washing machine, towels, and washcloths. Entrance area with slippers in various sizes. Outdoor area: Small fenced, partially covered area with table and benches, fireplace, rocket stove, solar oven, various herb plants, firewood, 2 rainwater collection barrels with 400l water as water supply (Nov-Apr). 2000m² unfenced area with meadows and forest, space for a hammock in the shade and 2 sun loungers. Resource-conserving energy supply: Two large solar panels provide the cabin with sufficient electricity Reliable lighting and charging options for electronic devices Good 4G network coverage for your communication needs Important note: Due to the remote location and limited accessibility, regular inspection of the cabin by us is not possible. We therefore only rent to responsible guests who commit to leaving the cabin clean and in perfect condition upon departure. Each tenant must conscientiously remove their own traces at the end of their stay. Ideal for anyone who wants to experience a resource-conserving, minimalist lifestyle or is looking for an authentic off-grid experience. Experience the special charm of self-sufficient living in harmonious balance with nature! Other things to note The hut can only be reached by hiking around 45 minutes. The water is not drinking water. It can be filtered. The fire pit outside may only be used if there is no risk of forest fire in the region. Fresh linens are available. The hut must be cleaned after the stay. The toilet is a dry separation toilet and must be emptied yourself.
