You can make the drive with 2WD, but go slowly because tree branches occasionally fall or rocks could have rolled down into the driveway. The road is well-maintained but not all paved. Wintertime snow can be significantly more than down in the Roanoke Valley. During winter, 4WD is suggested, especially if snow is in the forecast. If you have a request to check in early or check out late, please send a message. This can sometimes be accommodated, but may come with an additional charge. The extended time typically eliminates the opportunity for another rental day.
