Wonderful and roomy two bedroom cottage in the quiet village of Grand Marais, Michigan, centered on Lake Superior's south shore. Sits on a corner lot that is lined by a white picket fence and has everything needed for a relaxing stay. An outdoor gas grill and fire pit on a large lot provide everything needed for outdoor dining and relaxation plus the convenience of restaurants, stores and several beaches that are a five minute walk away! Also provided A/C, wifi internet The space The main section of our cottage was "delivered" to Grand Marais via rail in 1900, during the lumber boom, courtesy of Montgomery Wards. We have chosen to preserve that history by exposing a portion of the original floor planks in both the living room and master bedroom. Several rooms contain photo's and posters to help us remember friends and family from the mid-20th century. Just a five minute walk east to downtown and swimming at the sandy harbor beach or five minutes north for rock hunting along Lake Superior. Has bikes and kayaks provided. Includes Roku streaming TV, Amazon Echo (Alexa) and blue tooth audio. Guest access Full access to all main level rooms including the (east facing) mud room, which contains grilling utensils, life jackets, kayak dolly and paddles. James (Jim) Harrison (December 11, 1937 – March 26, 2016) - Mark Twain Award Recipient and Writer of Poetry, Novels, Essays and Screen Plays - "Wolf" and "Legends of the Fall"
