Le Lodge de Païolive - Getaway for 2 in southern Ardèche

On the edge of the Païolive wood, this very old forest where the Chassezac river flows, you will discover at the bend of a trail a curious arch perched on rocks carved by erosion. Pauline will welcome you to this unusual and comfortable little ecological cocoon. Entirely designed and built by us, it has the essentials to spend a few days in peace and quiet in the heart of nature. Close to: swimming, mountain biking, hiking, climbing, canoeing, tree climbing, etc... The space The Lodge de Païolive is a micro-house perched on limestone rocks, on the edge of the woods. Under the holm oaks, it has a wooden terrace of about fifteen m², and is accessible via a small stone staircase that winds between the rocks. Built by our hands, we used mainly local materials, such as Douglas-fir from Ardèche and wheat straw produced in the Berrias plain. Its inverted boat hull shape offers a pleasant interior volume despite a minimum floor area of only 5 m²! It is very well thermally insulated, heated and air conditioned, and habitable all year round. Ecological by nature, the cottage has a bathroom with a shower, sink and dry separation toilet (odorless). Organic shower gel/shampoo is provided as well as towels. The upstairs bedroom includes a 140 bed, it will be ready when you arrive. Sheets and pillowcases are provided. The indoor kitchen area is equipped with a microwave and sink. You will also have a filter coffee machine, kettle, and toaster at your disposal. Organic dishwashing liquid is also provided. Outside, on the terrace, there is a summer kitchen including a sink, an induction cooktop, pots and pans. A few meters away, in a bamboo cocoon, an outdoor shower (functional only in summer, with hot water) is very pleasant during the hottest days. Cleaning is included and will be done by me after you check out. Guest access You will have access to the lodge and its private terrace via a fairly comfortable hiking trail that descends through the woods. The lodge is 50 m from its dedicated parking space.
