We bring to you a raw, serene holiday experience in Nature with Zostel Sangla, our lively backpacker hostel in the Sangla village of Kinnaur. It is nestled in a row of apple orchards and overlooks the remarkable snow-capped Himalayas of Kinnaur, perfect for a slow and sublime escape in the Himalayas. Around the hostel, you can indulge in the adventures of hiking, mountain climbing, and taking village walks. When you step out, the beautiful villages of Sangla, Batseri, Rakchham, and Chitkul await to be explored. Or if you are journeying the valley at length, you could indulge in longer treks that introduce you to the true life of Kinnaur. Other things to note - We strictly DO NOT allow a group of more than 8 people. In case of a group of 4 or more, you might be purposefully allotted different dorm rooms. Further, if the group behavior is deemed unfit at the property, the Zostel Property Manager, upon subjective evaluation, retains the full right to take required action which may also result in an on-spot cancellation without refunds. - Children below 18 years of age are not permitted entry/stay at any of our hostels, with or without guardians. We do not recommend families. - Our standard check-in time is 1 PM and the standard check-out time is 10 AM - We only accept a government ID as valid identification proof. No local IDs shall be accepted at the time of check-in. - Guests are not permitted to bring outsiders inside the hostel campus. - We believe in self-help and do not provide luggage assistance or room services. - Drugs and any substance abuse is strictly banned inside and around the property. - Alcohol consumption is permitted at the premises as per the property’s discretion and local laws. Please reach out to the property prior to your arrival to confirm the same. - Towels are available for rent at INR 50 - Smoking is only allowed in the designated areas for smoking. - Right to admission reserved. Note: The roads to Sangla are open, but due to heavy snowfall, there are frequent power shortages in the region. Here are a few cautionary notes for extremely cold months (roughly November to mid-April): Running water will not be available because of the frigid weather. However, in each room, a 200 litres drum filled with water will be available. An immersion rod for water heating will be available in each room. To cope with the weather conditions: One electric heater and one electric kettle will be available. It’s extremely important to carry 4-5 layers of warm clothing, as the temperature gets as low as -10º to -25º.
