Take it easy at this unique and tranquil getaway. This family owned farm in Paonia is a great base to explore the western slope's beautiful farms and wineries. This rustic yet charming historic cottage sits removed from the rest of the property, surrounded by verdant lawns and shady trees, with views of the horse paddock and the farm fields. The hoots of the owls and the cries of the red tail hawks will accompany your stay and evening meditations. The space The cottage used to be the old Apple storage barn when the property was an apple orchard at the turn of the century. Now it is a cute, fully sufficient cottage with one bedroom, one bath, a full kitchen (except dishwasher), & a laundry room. It sits removed from the main house & is surrounded by lawns, trees, wildlife, & wrap around decks. The decor is a refreshing, beachy feel downstairs & a crisp yet warm Tuscan vibe upstairs. It’s very comfortable, homey, fresh, lovely & welcoming. It’s all yours to enjoy for your personal retreat, honeymoon, creative stay, or time with friends. Guest access Our farm is beautiful & we love sharing it (with humans but not your pets. Sorry for the inconvenience, but our homes are a sanctuary and healing space for those with allergies to animals). The cottage sits in its own secluded area of the property but you don’t need to remain there. Please feel free to explore the forest pathways, the floral gardens near our house, visit the horses, partake in the mulberries near the forest or the pick apricots in the orchard, etc. Other things to note You will need a car to get here & to get from our place into town but once here, there is plenty of parking available. The walk from here into town is about 3-4 miles & takes about 40 min to walk. (We hope to someday have E bikes for our guests).
