The Reel Inn Cabin is only 10 miles from Munising located on the Au Train River, known for being one of the best destinations for kayaking in the UP We have complimentary canoe & paddle boat and a bikes & Kayak's are available for rent This destination puts our guests approximately a 1/2 mile from one of the top 10 most pristine sugar sand beaches in the U.S. and near dozens of waterfalls and boat tours of the pictured rocks national park. The space This cozy cedar log cabin sleeps six (including adults, children and infants) has 3 queen size beds, 1 in a down stairs bedroom, 2 in a loft, also has a new full size log futon style couch/bed and a toddler bed. It has a full kitchen , Auto drip maker(filters provided) & Keurig (BYO pods) with granite counter tops as well as washer and dryer, and your rental includes all linen and towels. This air conditioned cabin is equipped with a Samsung Smart TV with 200+ built in channels, plus hulu or Netflix capabilities as well as gaming inputs. Ultra fast Starlink WiFi. Also the TV is equipped with game system inputs. Enjoy your Riverside fire pit with small bundle firewood available from many nearby local vendors. Camp fires in designated pit area only. Absolutely NO FIREWORKS on property at anytime. On site we have complimentary canoe & paddle boat and a few adult/children bicycles including a tandem. We also have kayak rentals on site, 1-8 ft youth, 3-10 ft, 2-12 ft, 1-13.5ft recreational tandem, & 1-14.5 ft tandem. All kayaks are sit in cockpit style & are $75 per unit (tandem is $25 more)for the length of your stay (payable on site if you wish)if you pre-pay them in advance with your reservation they are only $50 per unit or $75 for the tandem. reservations are not necessary but are recommended as we do rent to the public also. This destination puts our guests approximately a 1/2 mile from one of the top 10 most pristine sugar sand beaches in the U.S. You will be only 10 miles to Munising with countless sightseeing adventures, which include dozens of waterfalls as well as boat tours of the famous pictured rocks national park. If you enjoy atv/snowmobiling, the trails are approximately a 1/2 mile away with plenty of onsite parking at the Reel Inn. Spectacular fishing experiences in the Au Train river, & Au Train Lake and Lake Superior are only minutes away from our location. This lodge is listed separate from the cabin. Guest access The Reel Inn Cabin shares a lot with our Reel Inn Lodge. Both cabins have access to their own personal firepit, outdoor sitting area and launch area at the river for your canoe and kayak. Although the cabins proximity are close to one another, there is plenty of space and privacy for both to be comfortable and to enjoy this beautiful location. Other things to note Munising Area Attractions • Pictured Rocks Miners Castle – Located 5 miles east of Munising It’s a beautiful rock formation located on the shore of Lake Superior. There is a overlook at the top of the cliff of the formation or a short path, about ½ mile with 3 overlook points that take you to the rock formation. (All Ages) • Pictured Rocks Boat Tours – Tour takes you along the coast of the beautiful Pictured Rocks. Tour lasts 2 ½ to 3 hours. Recommended for Adults and patient children. (may be a bit long for young kids) • Riptide ride – Located on the west side of Munising, is a fast-paced tour of Grand Island on a jet boat around the island. You will see light houses, rock formations, waterfalls, beautiful beaches, eagle nests and much more. Equally as beautiful as the pictured rocks boat tour but half as long. Plan on getting a little wet on this ride as it is also a bit of a thrill ride as the captain of this tour will do a few high-speed spins in the water and take a real up-close look at a waterfall. This tour is not recommended for children under age 3, no pregnant women, or anyone with serious medical conditions, back, heart or neck problems. • Waterfall hiking – There are 17 waterfalls in the Munising area. Stop by the visitor's center in Munising and pick up a map. Hiking paths vary from ¼ mile to 8 miles. • ATV/Snowmobile Trails – hundreds of miles of trails surround the area for ATV/Snowmobile riding. Trail permits are required and enforced. Main trail is less than a 1/4 mile from the cabin and can be accessed with out trailering. • Public Beach – There is a public beach located across Hwy M-28 at the caution light, one of the most beautiful beaches in the area. Also, in Munising there is a beautiful beach located down Sand Point Road past the Hospital. • Mountain Biking – If you like to mountain bike, Bruno’s Run is on FH 13. Intermediate level MTB trail along uninhabited lakes for 6.2 miles. Another is Valley Spur just a mile west on Hwy 94 in Munising to the trailhead, where they feature four separate loops of trails, and finally Munising Mountain Bike Park located behind Hillside party store, consists of a 1500 ft beginner to intermediate level downhill Jump trail. • Kayaking – We rent Kayaks at the cabins ($75 for tandems or $50 for singles for the duration of your stay) You can paddle around the cabins between the islands in front of the cabins for hours and not see the same things, or paddle out to Lake Superior, and the current is slow enough you can paddle back up. You can also rent from local vendors that will transport you to different locations on the river drop you off and after 2-3 hours you end up at another location that’s literally only ½ a mile from the starting point. • Micro Brew Pubs – Downtown Munising now has a couple a great brew pub. By George and East Channel Brewing Co. The food scene is beginning to pick up a bit in the area as well
