Private lake house on peaceful Long Meadow Pond. As you look out onto the lake and listen to the songbirds in the morning, the hustle and bustle of city life feels like a far-off memory. Discover picturesque Litchfield county, take a nearby hike at White Memorial, or enjoy a refreshing dip from your own private dock. Unwind with a delicious al fresco dinner and enjoy a nightcap on the deck while watching the sunset over the lake. The space A cozy one bedroom lakehouse, this property is ideally suited for two adults. The living room is decorated In calming, neutral tones. The sofa and a lounge chairs are relaxing and offer a great place to lounge with a good book or just stare at the lake. The bedroom is located on the same floor, behind the kitchen. It has a plush mattress with topper which offers two firmness options: one half of the mattress is soft and the other half is firm. A small built in closet has shelves, hangers, a luggage rack and iron & ironing board. Foodies will enjoy the kitchen stocked with high end culinary gear. Senseo coffee maker, pour over and stovetop espresso makers are available to get your morning going. Global kitchen knives, All Clad and Le Creuset pots, pans and utensils will help you create that perfect meal, and there is an abundance of glassware to suit your favorite wine or cocktail pairings. There are three barstools in the eat in kitchen, and two more on the deck for dining al fresco. A small loft above the kitchen, accessible via a spiral staircase from the living room, serves as a home office and "library" with a reading nook.  Outside, the deck and garden have several seating options and a staircase leads directly to the lake. In addition to the indoor shower, there is semi-private outdoor shower on the side of the house. Kayaks (2) and stand up paddle boards (2) are all stored under the deck and available for use during your stay, along with other floating mats and noodles. There is no fishing allowed by the swimming area (and permits required for rest of the lake). A Yoga mat, kettle bells, pilates and resistance bands can be found in the little bench next the entry door. Four legged guests are welcome, and pet food bowls are available under the sink. Off leash on the property is fine, but the lake and chipmunks can be all too tempting! There have been bear and snake sightings in the County, though we have not seen one nearby. You may come to explore but you may not want to leave! The property is not well suited for children or persons with physical limiations. There are a lot of stairs, a lofted area, and no boundaries or safeguards to the lake. Guest access Entire home Other things to note As two ethical vegans, we kindly request to limit the consumption of animal-based foods in the household as much as possible. We also ask that you refrain from fishing on the dock (which would also require a permit).  Please respect the wildlife and keep your distance! There is an abundance of wild creatures in the area, ranging from eagles to hawks, bears and skunks as well as water snakes (native to the area and harmless).
