TRANQUIL Experience tranquil ocean views in the bright lower-level bedroom suite boasting intimate soaker tub and dreamy ensuite bathroom. Historic hand hewn beams and batten board paired with modern touches create a cozy, relaxing sleeping space. ALFRESCO Hear the birds chirping, feel the ocean breeze and see the nearby wildlife from the cozy outdoor living space. The outdoor space is an extension of living space, equipped with all you need to enjoy the ocean breeze: wood fired hot tub, Solo Stove fire pit, BBQ, and outdoor seating. HISTORIC The Shore House honours historical roots as a general store. Hand hewn beams and historic store shelves transport you to earlier days enjoying ice cream after a day of sand and sun. Inspired by Cape Cod cottages common to the area. Guest access HOT TUB CLOSED IN WINTER Due to the cold, Winter months, the hot tub is closed from January 1 to April 15 every year. Our nightly rate is during this time of year is reflective of the hot tub closure. Other things to note PARKING Parking is available 50m away from the entrance of the building — you can park temporarily in front of the house but will need to park is designated parking for long term parking. ROAD The Shore House is located near the road. The road can be busy on the weekends and is on a blind bend — be extra cautious when leaving for cars coming around the corner. OCEAN ACCESS The Shore House has a large field with ocean access 150m behind the house. The field is rough in a few places. You will need sneakers/boots to walk down and access the water from the Shore House. HOT TUB USAGE CONSIDERATIONS A wood burning hot tub is not for everything as it takes work but it is absolutely worth the reward of cold, crisp air combined with the sounds and smells of a crackling fire. You should consider that you may not be able to use the wood burning hot tub during your stay for a variety of reasons, from challenges to getting the fire if you are not familiar to fire bans preventing usage altogether. Our nightly rate is reflective of this potentiality and no refunds will be provided to guests in the event that our guests are unable to use the hot tub. Guests are expected to carefully read and follow the policies outlined in our Shore House Liability Waiver and Policies that must be signed prior to checking in. We are always available to our guests if you have any issues with getting the fire started (or anything else) and do our best to make this process as seamless and easy as possible. HOT TUB USAGE IN SUMMER You must abide by the Nova Scotia Burn Restrictions. We cannot understate how important it is for you take responsibility for checking and following the Provincial Burn Restrictions. Burn restrictions are updated at 2:00 pm daily. Burning is not allowed between 8:00 am and 2:00 pm. Depending on the restrictions, this may mean that you are unable to use the hot tub during your stay or that you will be unable to start heating the hot tub before 7:00 pm. Our nightly rate is reflective of this potentiality and no refunds will be provided to guests in the event that the Nova Scotia Burn Restrictions prevent our guests from using the hot tub. KINDLING AND FIRE STARTERS We provide wood, but guests should pick up kindling and fire starters at the hardware store to make starting the fire easier. Extra kindling and starters will help the fire get started quickly. You can usually find these at BMR Hardware, which is outside Lunenburg and directly on the way to the Shore House.
