Crown Cottage is a luxury self catering cottage situated in the tranquil village of High Newton in the southern Lake District. The property is ideally situated close to local attractions including the foodie capital of Cartmel and the southern shores of Windermere. Further afield, activities such as fell walking, mountain biking in Grizedale Forest and trips to the towns of Bowness, Ambleside and Grasmere are all easily accessible. The space The oldest part of Crown Cottage dates back to the 18th century and includes some lovely original features including exposed beams. Despite being an old property the rooms are generously proportioned, including an attractive kitchen / breakfast room and separate dining room. The fully equipped kitchen includes a traditional Aga oven, microwave, large fridge / freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and Nespresso coffee maker. The lounge boasts a wood burning stove, ideal for cosy evenings in. Upstairs, the property has three double bedrooms all with king size beds, pocket sprung mattresses and Egyptian cotton bed linen. There is a bathroom and separate shower room. Outside, the cottage has a pretty private garden with patio area and BBQ, plus guests have use of a double garage which is ideal for parking cars and storage of bikes / other outdoor sports equipment. From the cottage guests can walk or cycle straight onto quiet country roads from where you can stay local or go further into the National Park. Fell Foot Park near Newby Bridge is a popular spot for swimming, stand up paddleboading and kayaking.
