Relax and enjoy your visit whether you're in town for a Hamilton College or Colgate University event, the Boilermaker Road Race, a family visit or a special getaway. ** Please look on the Airbnb website on a computer to view dates over a year ahead, if not accessible on the app. We're less than a mile from the village of Clinton, 7 miles from Utica, NY and a 45 minute drive to the Adirondack Park. The private yard and quiet cul de sac create a peaceful environment for your visit. This 2200 square foot one story home with central AC was built in 2005 with an open floor plan and finished lower level. The house is in a residential neighborhood but the spacious yard provides a great deal of privacy as we're bounded on the rear of the property by woods and farm fields. Whether you enter through the mahogany and leaded glass front door or the side door off the driveway, we hope you will find this home comfortable as well as stylish. It's decorated in warm tones in a Craftsman style. Three bedrooms can accommodate 5 adults, with extra sleeping accommodations available on request: a single pull out couch in the office off of the living room, a queen futon with memory foam topper in the lower level room, and a blow up single, baby or toddler beds in the single bedroom. There is a screened in porch (great during mosquito weather!) as well as a patio and small deck off the back of the house. The front of the house has a small porch with two Adirondack chairs. Cleanliness and safety are important to us. We sanitize high-touch surfaces, down to the doorknobs and use cleaners and disinfectants approved by global health agencies. We also wear protective gear to help prevent cross-contamination. Each room in the home is cleaned per a strict protocol. We also provide extra cleaning supplies, so you can clean as you stay if you like. We comply with local laws, including any additional safety or cleaning guidelines and would be happy to provide more details if you choose our home for your stay. Please also note that this is a home that is lived in, not a full time rental. Despite this, you can be assured of having adequate closet space and some drawers in each bedroom for your stay. We're a retired couple with grandchildren, so we appreciate families. We ask that you supervise young children but encourage them to play and enjoy the outdoors if weather permits! The entire home, with the exception of the utility sections of the basement and attic, which are locked off, is all yours. You're encouraged to explore the kitchen, pantry and dining room cabinets for cooking and serving pieces and hope that you'll call if you can't find something you need. Self Check-In is provided, with a lockbox with two keys for guest use. Once inside, a Home Manual will be on the kitchen island with extensive information about how things work and where things are. If you prefer to meet the host, we're happy to greet you when you arrive. Otherwise, we'll be a phone call and short drive away if anything is needed. Your privacy is important! Home is located in the village at the end of a street on a quiet cul de sac. Homes along this street are all well maintained. This home faces the center of the cul de sac where there's a grassed area with a small gazebo. Because of the dead end, there is little to no traffic. The area is wooded or faces farm fields and is private while being less than a mile from the village green in Clinton. There is ample parking in the large driveway off the street and parking on the road is allowed if needed. This is a lovely rural/suburban area for biking or walking. The main road to the village is at the end of our street. There are no sidewalks until you are about halfway to the village which is only .7 miles from our home. The road dips down a hill until you reach the sidewalks, but is safe for those used to rural walking. The nearest airport is Syracuse Hancock, about 45 min. drive. Albany International is about 1.5 hr. drive. If traveling the NYS thruway we recommend either the Westmoreland or Utica exits. Hamilton College is 2 miles away, Colgate University about a 25 min. drive and all points in Utica about 10-15 min. The entrance to the Adirondack Park is a 45 min. drive via 12/28 North, and we are less than an hour from Cooperstown and the Baseball Hall of Fame. Our guests are often in town for special events, like College Commencement, Parents' weekend or weddings. You are welcome to host a small family gathering. There are lovely serving pieces available and additional wine glasses or folding tables can be provided on request. Large parties and events are NOT allowed but this is a great setting for family meals, picnics in the yard and the like! As noted, there is no smoking inside, but the screened porch, front porch, patio and yard should meet your needs. Thank you for respecting this request.
