Your Own Private Sail Yacht in San Blas
Description
Reserve a private comfortable sail yacht for a special vacation or event. Three private double cabins, saloon double bed, two bathrooms, full kitchen, and spacious cockpit. Island hopping, snorkelling, paddleboards, kayak, and motorized dinghy included. The space Escape the ordinary and experience the magic of San Blas (Guna Yala) through cultural immersion on board Constellation, a modern sail yacht with comfortable accommodations in three private double cabins and two bathrooms (private ensuite bathroom upgrade available). Constellation is equipped with stand-up paddleboards, snorkel gear, Bluetooth speaker (no loud music when anchored), hammocks, motorized dinghy, and double kayak. I’m Mack, a 32 year old Canadian, and it would be my pleasure to be your host and captain in San Blas (Guna Yala). I have lived in Guna Yala for more than 5 years. You will also be hosted by a local Guna, Makuto, a farmer and fisherman who will accompany you to the islands and snorkel spots, share stories about Guna culture, and introduce you to his friends and family. My partner, Meliza, will be your chef and lives on our family boat (a different boat from Constellation) with our two young children who were born in the local community. In recent years, commercial sailing charter activity has increased significantly in San Blas. If you are looking for a commercial sail charter, you will find many offers promoted on sail agency websites and social media. The Secretary of Tourism of Guna Yala recently requested at a meeting with sail charter operators (December 2025) that touristic activities on yachts be refined to cultivate meaningful interactions and relationships with the local Guna community. There is so much more to San Blas than beaches, palm trees, and crystal clear water. The local Guna community wants to connect with you to share their stories and learn about your world too. In addition to sailing, snorkelling, and beach time, Constellation guests will have the opportunity to go fishing with a local guide in a dugout canoe (cayuco), learn how to make traditional jewelry and cloth art (molas), learn about coconut cultivation, learn about marine ecology and erosion, and understand the challenges the region faces with plastic pollution. Constellation guests are encouraged to spend some time cleaning plastic from the beaches and bring any plastic waste they brought with them back to Panama City. We offer our meal and drink package for $60 per person per day (alcohol in moderation). You may also choose to cook your own meals with our support on board instead. There are no grocery stores in San Blas. We commit to sustainable practices and do our best to minimize waste by purchasing fruits and vegetables without plastic packaging from a weekly vegetable boat. We are always grateful when our guests bring fresh food items from the city to add to our gourmet dishes. We also ask that guests help us to minimize waste by bringing plastic waste in plastic jugs back to Panama City when they return. We harvest sun-energy with solar panels, so on cloudy days battery supply on board can be limited. We provide guests with at least two portable fans per cabin and one rechargeable light to maximize energy efficiency. We collect rain and river water for showering so we appreciate when guests conserve shower water on board. Book one of three private double cabins and potentially share the boat with new friends (see other listing), or book the entire boat privately (this listing). Reliable transportation from Panama City is available with a recommended transport service: Lam Tours. Guest access Guests have communal access to almost everything aboard: snorkel gear, paddleboards, water toys, and more. Fresh water is limited so showers must be taken conservatively.
