You can explore the grounds, go in the animal shelters and be secluded in 200+ acres with 3.5 miles of paved walkways while witnessing nature take back an American landmark. The inn features a full kitchen, outdoor hot tub and fire-pit. Decorated with remnants of The Catskill Game Farm. This room overlooks what once was the Elk Pen. It can only accommodate 2 people. The Zebra Room (296 sq ft - vestibule adds another 56 sq ft) includes: Queen bed with memory foam mattress Private En-suite Bathroom with step in shower & rainshower head A/C &  Radiant Heating Smart TV, Bluetooth Radio, Hair Dryer Desk/Workspace Eco Friendly Shower Shampoo, Conditioner and Bodywash Shared indoor vestibule with sitting area and walkout balcony with Elephant Room PET FRIENDLY: This is NOT one of our 3 pet friendly rooms. COMBINATION ROOM: This room can be combined with the Elephant Room as adjoining rooms. Today you can stay on the abandoned property at what was once the giraffe barn and explore what remains. The Old Catskill Game Farm Inn is a boutique hotel & unique Inn nestled in the Catskill Mountains. Located in the center of an abandoned zoo, it has 5 guest rooms named for animals who were once housed on the property, as well as 4 Private Upscale Glamping Sites. Each guest room is intentionally extra spacious including its own bathroom, desk/office space, air conditioner, radiant floor heating, television and DVD player. WiFi is available and has been recently updated to FiOS. The Catskill Game Farm closed in 2006 and was the first privately owned zoo in the United States, was operational for 77 years and housed over 2,000 animals. Among their collection were giraffes, rhinos, pygmy hippos, capybara, and many more. The communal areas, which are accessible year-round, include a fully stocked kitchen, sauna, raised deck, fire pit, game room, coffee/tea/beverage station, 200+ acre abandoned zoo to explore, and 25+ miles of wooded walking/hiking trails. Other things to note COVID-19: We are taking extra steps to ensure the safety of our guests and staff. Our Check-in and Check-out times have been adjusted to allow us to properly clean and sanitize. PETS & EXTRA GUESTS: Please let us know in advance: -If you intend on bringing a pet (there is an additional $20/night/pet fee). -If you will need a cot or to use one of our chaise lounges (folds out into a twin bed - located in our Elephant and Rhino Rooms) (there is an additional $40/night fee) -All dogs need to be leashed while within the Inn and should not be left unattended within the guest rooms. We have a highly qualified local dog sitter we would be happy to put you in touch with. Also, with outdoor seating more prevalent than in the past many restaurants now allow dogs to join their owners :) We have 3 pet friendly rooms (Giraffe, Elephant & Menagerie Rooms) and 2 which are not pet friendly (Rhino and Zebra Rooms). EARLY CHECK-IN AND LATE CHECK-OUT: Standard Check-in is typically between 4PM and 8PM. We are happy to offer early check-in upon request if our scheduling allows it. You are always welcome to arrive before check-in and explore the property while waiting for your room to become available. Standard Check-out is typically 11AM. We are happy to offer late check-out upon request if our scheduling allows it. We will send you all the information needed for 'self check-in' in advance. IMPORTANT: We will share very specific detailed instructions with you after you confirm your booking. Please keep them accessible when you are on your way to us. The property is not easy to find and they will be needed for a stress-free arrival.
