You'll find all of the modern updates to the kitchen and baths in this 2BR 1.5 Bth home but the 1840s charm remains! Along with the two bedrooms, there is an additional space to sleep on a fold down couch in Den. We stocked the kitchen with a Thanksgiving meal in mind, so bring your culinary skills! The porches are the perfect place to watch the world go by with a cup of coffee or a glass of wine. The location is ideal for making your way to the shops and restaurants on Main Street. Leave your car and walk 8-10 minutes and you are in the heart of the fun! Grant Park is just across the pedestrian bridge from downtown. If you are looking to enjoy the outdoors, The river trail is just below Grant Park and you can kayak on the Galena River. There are kayak rental locations near the river. In the winter, there's skiing or hiking at Chestnut Mountain. We've got some brochures in our Welcome Book as well. History is front and center in Galena-- so whether you check out the homes of President Grant, hop on the Trolley Tour, visit the Galena History Museum or just walk around the Historic District, you'll feel like a step back in time.
