Cornish Barn with Mezzanine Sleeping area.
Description
Enjoy this little Cornish Barn set in the historical village of Tregony, known as the gateway to the Roseland Peninsular, an area of outstanding beauty giving access to beautiful sandy beaches and quaint fishing villages. The ‘Skiber’ (Cornish for Barn) has a beautiful natural slate floor, decorated in Cornish blue and white with a splash of Raspberry throughout. It benefits from free off street parking and is an ideal base for a family of 4 to enjoy the laid back life of living in Cornwall. The space Whatever the weather the Skiber offers an ideal base and access to the Roseland Peninsular, where farming meets the beautiful rugged coastline, fishing boats can be seen picking up daily crab pots and where families can go rock pooling or build sand castles on the near by sandy beaches. Whether you want to walk along the coastal paths or the tidal river Fal or maybe take the tripper boat across to Falmouth for the day or enjoy the legendary King Harry Ferry across to Trelissick Gardens there is sure to be something for everyone. The Skiber offers free off road parking for its guests and is a cosy space to sit and plan your holiday adventures. It sits in the grounds of Lastpenny Cottage. A large comfy sofa and 44 inch TV with Sky and Sky Sports greet you as you enter. Free WIFI, Board games and a book swap are also available. The fully equipped kitchen area provides traditional cooking options with a beautiful Rayburn ( so easy to use). There is also an Air Fryer and microwave for those quick meals. No need to wash up, let the dishwasher take the strain. Also available is a washing machine and outside washing line. A small desk is available should you have to bring work with you! The bathroom with bath, shower, sink and low level toilet is on the ground floor. Towels are provided along with bath/shower sachets. There is a small cupboard under the stairs where you will find an iron, ironing board and clothes airer. The cushions for the outdoor seating are also stored here. The stairs lead to a bright mezzanine which has been designed with a partition wall giving privacy to two sleeping areas; one with a double bed and the other; two singles. Both areas have their own separate lighting. Outside, the Skiber has its own pretty courtyard with seating and BBQ area where you are able to use your own bbq or the loan of a Teppanyaki Grill. For those sunny beach days; beach towels, picnic blanket, wind break, sun brolly and even a bucket and spade are provided. The private courtyard is surrounded with plants and trees which leads to the free onsite parking area, so no need to walk far to reach the Skiber. There is a dedicated recycling area and guests are encouraged to recycle as much as possible. The space is one of peace and quiet and laid back living so if you are just relaxing in the sunny courtyard or lounging inside we hope you have a pleasant stay. The Skiber being set in the rural historical village of Tregony does not have the usual amenities and services of a town like St Austell or the City of Truro. However it does have a lovely pub offering food, a Sports Club with a lovely beer garden over looking the valley, a coffee shop selling amazing home bakes and a well stocked village shop. Although the Skiber doesn’t have an EV charging point there is one in the village should you need to top up and the nearest fuel garage is 4 mins away. Guest access Guests have sole access to all areas within the Skiber and its courtyard. There is free parking on site outside the Skiber. The yard will be shared with the hosts. There is dedicated bin and recycling for the Skiber. Other things to note The cooking is on the traditional Rayburn and is operated by turning a dial to the required temperature. The heating for the Skiber is on a separate system and is controlled by a thermostat.
