Welcome to our Mid-Century Modern Dream overlooking the Puget Sound. The moment you open the door you are greeted with floor to ceiling windows and breathtaking views of the Port Townsend Bay. The stunning home, designed by famed PNW architect Paul Kirk in 1957, has been lovingly restored to its original beauty and updated along the way. We are located within 5 blocks of both Uptown and Downtown, ensuring easy access to all that PT offers! The days can be as full or relaxing as you desire. The space 30 day minimum stay required. THE PROPERTY: Bedroom 1: (Upstairs) King bed Bedroom 2 (Upstairs): Two Twin Beds Bedroom 3 (Downstairs): King Bed Bedroom 4 (Downstairs): Twin Bunk Bed Split between three levels, this beautifully updated home provides a peaceful retreat for family and friends to gather. The mid-century modern architecture of this house is largely unchanged, with upgrades to the furniture and utilities to bring it a more modern feel. The paintings on the walls are the work of local artists, many who were good friends of our family. The clean and simple lines that the mid-century modern style incorporates are highlighted throughout the home, with gorgeous original wooden walls and ceilings, soaring windows, and an open floor plan creating a sense of calm for all who enter. There are four bedrooms and two full baths in this open tri-level home. The floor you enter on has one of the king bedrooms as well as a twin bedded room. A full bath completes this level. Step down a short staircase and you enter the living, dining and kitchen areas. Another few steps down and you will find the second king bedroom and the bunk bedroom on the bottom floor. The second bath (all newly done) and the washer and dryer are on this level as well. Back on the main floor, you will notice that the ceilings are high here, as well as the windows ... two stories worth, so that you can take in all of the view without having to leave the room and miss any of the conversation. In the living room you will find a flat screen Smart TV, a DVD player and a hook up for your smart phone to play your music or your DVDs/videos, as well as a Bluetooth Sound Bar. The home is equipped with high-speed wifi, allowing visitors to work, stream, or surf the web seamlessly from any room. After a stop at the farmers market, return to a complete kitchen equipped with all the appliances a chef would need... slow-cooker, blender, pie plates (for the yummy wild blackberries), coffee makers and more. Once you have cooked up your lovely meal (or picked up food from one of the many restaurants in town), make your way to the picnic table outside or large table inside to enjoy your meal with loved ones and take in the breathtaking view of the bay. With all of the activities that Port Townsend has to offer, the days are often full, but the peaceful house is waiting for your return home, where you can sit back, relax, and watch the ferries and sailboats make their way across the bay.
