Laird’s Lodge is a short walk from the legendary Royal Mile and the quaint, picturesque, boutique-filled West Bow. The vibrant, historic Grassmarket which pulses with restaurants, cafés and traditional pubs is literally a few steps away. This is the perfect location from which to explore the delights of Scotland’s gorgeous capital city. The space In the 1800s, this building was part of the Royal stables. Now, it provides you with the facilities to relax after enjoying the innumerable delights of ‘Auld Reekie’. In your Edinburgh home-from-home, you could start your day by sipping a delicious coffee from the Nespresso machine while taking in the view and planning your day ahead. Later on, treat yourselves to a dram or a cuppa, while watching Edinburgh life pass by on the street below on the very spot where Medieval jousts took place in centuries gone by. As dinner-time draws near, if you haven’t been tempted by one of Edinburgh’s fabulous array of restaurants, you can prepare yourself a delicious meal in the fully-equipped, modern kitchen then dine while gazing up at the Castle perched atop the remains of an ancient volcano. Will it be one of the evenings where it is illuminated or even glorified by fireworks? After a romantic meal, what better, than to recline on the comfortable sofa and enjoy a movie or your favourite series on the smart TV. When it’s time to turn in, retire to the royal chamber where the sumptuous four-poster bed will gather you up in its welcome embrace, preparing you for another day of Edinburgh’s delights. Laird’s Lodge is equipped with a large flat screen TV with Netflix and BBC Prime as well as bluetooth BOSE speaker. Guest access Details to access Laird’s Lodge can be found in the “Check-in” section which you will be able to access early on the day you check-in. We ask that you please go to this link where we provide photos and detailed information. We operate a lockbox system, the lockbox can be found along the side of the building. We ask that you please look through the information to ensure a smooth check-in. Laird’s Lodge is on the top floor of a two storey building, on entry, there is 1 wide set of stairs to go up with a bannister on the left. If you arrive by taxi, the taxi can bring you right to the main door. Our check-in time is from 3pm and check out is by 10am. We can’t offer a left luggage service but you will find local left luggage information in my “check-in” information section. I will do my best to accommodate an earlier check-in or check-out but this would need to be arranged in advance of your arrival. Other things to note Check-in: A couple of days before your arrival, our information will become available on our listing. You will have access to Directions, Check-in information with photos and a short version of our House Manual with a full printed version available in the flat. We are next to a very social area with restaurants and pubs and it can only occasion be lively at night as people make their way home.
