The Red Barns is a unique Grade 2* historic home, in the heart of the seaside town of Redcar, close to the beach and local amenities. We are ideally located for a short break or a business trip with easy access to the Tees Valley development area. This family run accommodation has been refurbished to a high standard, with large rooms, patio and garden area for guests to enjoy. During your stay The original building of the Red Barns, which the B&B is part of has quite a history. It was built in 1870 for a wealthy industrialist Sir Hugh Bell, designed by the architect Phillip Webb with interiors designed by William Morris, the founders of the Arts & Crafts movement in the UK. Red Barns most famous resident was Gertrude Bell a 'Scholar, Traveller and peace maker. A friend to the Arabs.' which is shown on a Blue Plaque on front of the B&B. It was for many years a boarding school for Sir Williams Turners Grammar School. It then became a family pub and hotel until 2013.
