Enter through the front door into the open living area with a wood-plank ceiling, comfortable mid-century style furniture and insert wood stove. Move into the inviting dining area and recently renovated kitchen with a huge center island built by a local craftsman. The well-lit, spacious bedroom with queen size bed invites you to relax, fall asleep and sleep in. Our cabin is truly an escape for your mind, body and soul so come enjoy! The living room is our favorite space for lounging and hanging out. Read a book in the corner nook or stretch out on the daybed. Fill the wood stove with firewood and let warm you on a cold winter night. Curled up with soft pillows and blankets, you will have no problem finding a space that draws you in. The kitchen is equipped with new pots/pans, modern appliances and every possible amenity for cooking and food prep during your stay. Enjoy coffee made with locally roasted beans while the birds sing in the backyard. The bathroom is stocked with organic shampoo, conditioner, and body soap. Towels are freshly cleaned, and bathrobes hang in the closet. Laundry facilities are available for your use. After a long day of hiking the master bedroom sleeps two guests in creature comfort with a memory foam mattress, high thread-count sheets, and fluffy pillows. The wood-burning insert fireplace will warm the entire house on cold, winter day so get comfortable in front of a movie via the Roku streaming service and sound bar. New mini-split air conditioning and heat throughout assures you the perfect comfort whatever temp outside. Outside: From the moment you enter our front yard with its pathways, Adirondack chairs and hammocks tucked beneath mature cedars and pines, you’ll know it’s time to unwind. Our back deck has been newly expanded making it the perfect space to let nature take over. Read a book in the hammock or have morning coffee in the comfortable dining seating under the natural shade. Don’t be surprised if the inquisitive Steller’s Jays come and pay you a visit looking for peanuts (help yourself to the supply in the fridge). Located in a quiet, friendly neighborhood, we are a one-mile drive or walk to town. Hike to the Nature Center loop or follow Strawberry Creek down to the swimming hole. Our cabin is a perfect place to launch out and explore by foot or by car. We are pet-friendly so bring your well-mannered four-legged friends (maximum two) and let them explore the fully fenced front and backyards. Idyllwild’s mayor is a dog (yes, Mayor Max is a golden retriever) and makes sure our town stays pup-friendly! Idyllwild Area At nearly a mile-high, our town is nestled below the majestic granite peaks of the San Jacinto mountains among the Cedars and Ponderosa Pines. With tranquil Strawberry Creek flowing through, Idyllwild is a popular destination for artists, rock climbers, nature lovers, hikers, and nature lovers. Yes, you are still in So. California, but it feels like you’ve escaped to the Rockies or Appalachians. Walk and enjoy main streets, find bargains at the thrift stores, or sample local wines while listening to live music. Explore the Idyllwild Nature Center or summit 10,800’ Mt. San Jacinto. We love our little artsy, outdoorsy, peaceful town ‘on the Hill’, and we hope you grow to love it too. Guest Access We are hands off so feel free to check yourself in at your own convenience. A code for the keypad will be provided prior to your entrance. We are close by if you need us and hands off if you don’t. Other Things to Note Number of Guests: our one-bedroom cabin is best suited for a couple or single, so bookings are limited to two guests. Please enquire regarding possible exceptions for small children. Pets: Dogs are the only animals allowed (no cats or other animals). Dogs must be kenneled inside if left alone. We share our surroundings with bobcats, mountain lions, coyotes and other animals so be watchful and remember to not leave dogs in the yard or house unsupervised. Security camera: There are two cameras with 24-hour monitoring that cover the entrance and exit points for the security of both you and the property. There are no security cameras inside the house. Parking: Cars can be parked in front on the street or in the driveway. Wifi: Strong and reliable WIFI is available, and cell phone service is strong. Hiking: Idyllwild is a mecca for outdoor enthusiasts and has many hiking within a short distance. There is an Adventure Pass available during your visit that will allow you access to parks and trail heads.
