Cozy "swallow's nest," near Schaalsee

Individually and comfortably furnished apartment for two people (with up to two children) in a converted farmhouse with a fantastic garden. An adjoining room with an extra bathroom for 2 people can be rented upon request. Various outdoor seating areas, depending on the position of the sun and personal preferences. In the middle of the Lauenburg lake landscape, 4.5 km to Schaalsee, 4 km to the nearest swimming spot on the Pipersee. Each 10 min. to Mölln or Ratzeburg, 30 min. to Lübeck, each 45 min. to Hamburg and Schwerin. The space "Schwalbennest" is our youngest "child." In 2019, we re-roofed, extended and remodeled the roof of our beautiful old farmhouse. This is how the "Schwalbennest" came about. A tasteful/cozy and at the same time modern/comfortable little apartment. The exposed beams, the warm wooden floor, the colorful mix of old furniture and the beautiful wooden windows are responsible for the coziness. The bright, open-plan design of the apartment, the induction stovetop, the modern walk-in shower (with cozy natural slate walls and floor) and the best Wi-Fi at the touch of a button (can also be switched off) are modern and comfortable. It is very spacious for 2 people. Several fire pits and grills can be used in the yard. We have chickens, geese, a dog and a cat on the farm. You can watch the animals from the yard and enjoy them, but they are far enough away not to disturb your (nighttime) vacation peace. Running ducks (great entertainers) run right through the garden. Accessible by bus from Hamburg, Büchen train station, Ratzeburg or Mölln central bus station during the week. Since we offer another apartment on the farm ("Cozy premium eco apartment in Resthof"), as well as a room right next to the Schwalbennest, it is also attractive for multiple families or small groups. Guest access The photographed terrace area can be used. Currently, access to the apartment is via the other half of the terrace. This part is occupied by our son with his wife and two sons. The two of them will be happy to answer any questions you may have. If it is too hot on the terrace in summer, you are also welcome to move to the courtyard, which has natural shade. There are lots of nice spots here. Other things to note Our rest farm is inhabited by 4 generations. Irid and I live in the main apartment on the ground floor, forward, towards "Altes Dorfstraße 26". My mother, Henriette (86), lives above us. In July 2021, the apartment for our eldest son, our daughter-in-law and our grandchildren was expanded in the former hayloft above the threshing floor. Our daughter lives in the old stable with her husband and their two children. We have geese, chickens and free-range ducks. A large, deep and beautiful sandbox (where our elder already played) inspires the children. Overall, the farm with its buildings, open spaces, seating, (fruit)trees, roses, flower and vegetable garden, looks like a small, self-contained world. This world includes liveliness and encounters, but also peace and quiet, opportunity for community as well as retreat and "being in itself".
