Welcome to La Casita Cardinal, a cozy 320 sq ft A-frame nestled along the serene Stillwater River, offering over 450 ft of scenic riverfront. Tucked behind the main homes on a tranquil lane near the historic Buckhorn Tavern, this peaceful hideaway is ideal for couples, solo travelers, and nature enthusiasts.​ The space Living Space: Relax in a comfortable area equipped with a well-appointed kitchenette featuring a fridge, induction hot plate, Ninja Foodi oven/air fryer, and microwave.​ Bedroom: Upstairs, find a king-size bed and a charming sitting deck—perfect for sipping your morning coffee while soaking in the river views.​ Private Patio: Step onto your private patio, complete with a firepit, offering a front-row seat to the tranquil sights and sounds of the river.​ River Access: Enjoy direct access to the Stillwater River, renowned for its gentle flow and natural beauty. The river meanders gracefully through western Ohio, providing exceptional opportunities for kayaking, fishing, and wildlife observation. 🌿 Nature Highlights Stillwater River: Immerse yourself in the beauty of Ohio's only river system designated as both a State Scenic River and a National Water Trail. ​ Wildlife Watching: The river's excellent habitat supports a diverse array of wildlife, including 59 fish species and various songbirds and waterfowl such as the wood duck and great blue heron. Englewood MetroPark: Explore nearby hiking trails at Englewood MetroPark, with the South park entrance located less than a mile away, offering lush landscapes and vibrant seasonal colors. We ask that you also sign the waiver in the blue folder, snap a photo and send via Airbnb messenger. There is no fee. If you chose to take a river trip please coordinate with Taiter Kayak or visit one of the local canoe livery’s like Barefoot Canoe Rental. Guest access 🚪 Guests have full access to the A-frame, private patio with firepit, and the surrounding property along the Stillwater River.​ Parking: Two designated parking spaces are provided approximately 200 steps from your private entrance, along a natural, scenic path.​ Equipment Use: Kayaks & Stand-Up Paddleboards (SUPs): We offer kayaks and SUPs for your enjoyment. To ensure safety, we kindly ask guests to complete a liability waiver prior to use. Details will be provided upon booking or check-in.​ Other things to note 📌 The Stillwater River Lodge includes three separate homes: The Main House, a Guest Cottage, and La Casita Cardinal. While we live on the property, your space is your own and we’ll only say hello if we cross paths while tending to the chickens or enjoying the river ourselves. Need more space?
