Portloe Retreat is tucked away down a quiet country lane in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, within 600 metres of the South West Coastal Path. A self contained, detached building situated next door to the owners property, it is perfect for walkers looking for a peaceful base to explore from. With kingsize bed and a bath providing comfort and luxury. The space Portloe Retreat is nestled in a peaceful hamlet within walking distance of the harbour in Portloe and the beaches of Portholland. Walking time is about 30 minutes by road, longer by the coastal path. Fully renovated in 2022 and redecorated in 2025 to provide a contemporary, comfortable space to explore Cornwall. Every season we redecorate and repair where necessary in order to keep the property and garden in pristine condition. MAXIMUM 2 GUESTS/2 DOGS/BABY PRIVATE PARKING ONSITE ON SHARED GRAVEL GATED DRIVEWAY. Portloe Retreat is on one level with private gated entrance. With kitchen/diner, living room, hallway, bedroom and full bathroom. Outside is a rear courtyard, sunny patio area with dining table, 2 chairs, 2 sun loungers, fire pit and warm outside shower for sandy humans and dirty dogs. - Featuring a new kitchen and modern rain shower bathroom with underfloor heating, large bath, central heating with radiators. - SMART TV with terrestrial TV option. - Full fibre broadband. WIFI Ethernet. - Two seater sofa, armchair, table lamps and wall lights, blankets, footstool access to courtyard from patio doors. - Underfloor heating in bathroom - shower, large bath, wash hand basin, WC, illuminated demister mirror, towel rail, plenty of cupboards, towels and beach towels. Bathroom cupboards and vanity countertop have been upgraded for 2026 with wooden painted cupboards and a quartz top. - Dishwasher, Washing Machine & Dryer, Microwave, Toaster, Cafetiere, Towel rail, Oven and 70/30 Fridge Freezer. - Outside warm shower, 2 loungers, dining table and 2 chairs, parasol, fire pit (logs at an additional cost subject to availability) . - ELECTRICITY POINT - outside, suitable to charge your vehicle at an additional cost. There is space in our garage area or driveway for bikes and kayak. Portloe Retreat runs off our private water supply and drainage. We ask that you are conscious of your water consumption whilst staying. We live next door and will always try and be there to welcome you and answer any questions. After that, we will leave you in peace and privacy to enjoy your holiday. The entire cottage and patio’s are enclosed/gated and safe for dogs & children to wander round. Well behaved dogs allowed....please keep them off furniture and beds ( or bring your own throws ). Answers to popular questions: Beach towels supplied. Essentials stocked in kitchen: Salt, pepper, olive oil, tea bags, coffee, instant coffee, sugar. Bed linen supplied. Washing machine liquid and dishwasher tablets supplied. Cleaning items, washing up liquid, tea towels & toilet rolls supplied. Plenty of coat hangers. BOOKS and MAPS of Cornwall and the surrounding area. Major supermarkets - Tesco, Waitrose, Sainsbury’s, Asda all deliver to Portloe. Local Stores - Veryan Stores & Post Office 1 mile. Hairdryer provided. 1 bath towel & 1 hand towel per person, bath mat and anti slip mat. 1 beach towel per person. Iron & ironing board. 3 drawer freezer compartment in fridge freezer. FULLY FLEXIBLE CHANGEOVER DAYS WE DO ALL OUR OWN CHANGEOVERS & CLEANING using Purdy & Figg natural cleaning sprays (100% non toxic) where possible. Each season all duvets/pillows/soft furnishings are thoroughly laundered. Duvets, mattress and pillows have protective anti dust mite covers. Duvets and pillows are hypoallergenic, feather free. For stays over one week we supply a change of bedlinen and towels each week on request. The cottage has a thorough clean and air after each visit. We state that your accommodation will be available for arrival from 4pm. We will send a message if it is ready earlier. Please note: There are NO safety precautions or facilities for very small children: stair gate or cupboard locks. We do not have a cot or high chair. Our male Hungarian Vizsla dog Merlin is friendly and welcoming to visitors. He will be kept within the boundaries of our private garden. You may meet him occasionally on the shared driveway. We love dogs and offer dog sitting should you wish to go out and leave your pets indoors. £10 per hour, maximum 5 hours. We can also pick you up from Truro or St Austell Station (£40 each way) or Newquay Airport (£50 each way). Please check with us first for availability. No weddings. Guest access Upon arrival to the shared driveway, park to the right hand side, keeping the garage clear. From the shared driveway, you enter through a gate to access the alley between the main house and Portloe Retreat. This alleyway gives access to the rear courtyard garden and is fully enclosed.
