Situated on a 1500 acre working cattle farm at the base of Knapps Peak, “Eira Joan Cottage” is a quaint couples retreat with majestic views of Mt Maroon, Mt Barney and the surrounding Scenic Rim. Our beautiful region hosts a broad range of experiences, including bushwalking the mountains, national park trails and lakes, brewery and winery visits, local festivals and markets, and much more. The space Nestled in beside the original Homestead (vacant), the cottage has been recently renovated to ensure a relaxing and comfortable stay, while allowing full function of a space to self-cater, including gas cooktop, BBQ, fridge/freezer, microwave, kettle, toaster, Nespresso coffee machine and fully "kitted" kitchen with everything you need. Call into one of the quality butchers and local fresh produce stores for your supplies as you pass through town. Help yourself to the macadamia nut tree and the herbs in the garden if you would like a fresh addition to your meal. Everything is supplied for a continental breakfast - toast, farm fresh eggs, local honey, yogurt, preserved fruit, juice, milk, coffee (pods & instant), tea & hot chocolate. Wifi is available for the use of the TV, and for Wifi calling. There is also an ironing board, iron, hairdryer, board games, puzzles, cards and books provided for your use. Firewood is provided for the fireplace and fire pit. There are numerous outdoor seating areas on the patio or in the garden. The bedroom has a large king-sized bed with luxurious linen, block out blinds, insect screens and ceiling fans. Guest access Undercover parking is available in the nearby shed. Other things to note Less than a 90-minute drive from Brisbane/Gold Coast and only 25 minutes from Boonah (including approx. 10 km of maintained unsealed road) and 10 minutes from Maroon Dam, this picturesque farm stay is the ideal location for a scenic rural get-away, writers retreat, artist inspiration or ideal for couples who are looking for a quiet romantic, weekend escape or a holiday in the peace and quiet. Experience remote living with 100% green solar power and tank water. Enjoy an uninterrupted view of the night skies while sitting around the fire pit. Feed the king parrots and enjoy an abundant range of native birds, kookaburras, wedge tail eagles and other wildlife. You may even be able to spot a koala, (depending on the seasons). You can meet our resident cows & calves, horses, chooks and dogs. Take a picnic basket and rug provided and enjoy the beautiful rural setting.
