This unique elevated cabin is built over a natural spring and has a private rock shelter patio and fire pit area. A drop down deck creates a very open feeling punctuated by views of the stream through the trees. Built mostly from timber and stone harvested from the property the cabin features Oak hard wood floors and large glass windows and French doors. The cabin does not have a kitchen or bathroom. A large common area with an outdoor kitchen and bathhouse is less than a minute walk away. The cabin sits on 59 acres along almost a mile of beautiful Byrd Creek. There is the possibility of an early check in at 12:30 for $25 dollars on arrival. We have a Kawasaki Mule five seat 4x4 side by side that we also do guided tours throughout the property on. The price ranges from $25 to $50 per person depending on the length and number of people. Weather permitting we also offer guided fishing trips along the creek. All of the property except where the owner lives is available for guests to explore. The owner lives on the property and is available to answer any questions. Located within the historic Cumberland Homestead neighborhood. Please be aware that our cabins are rough sawn milled timber selectively harvested from the property. Do not rub your hands down the wood as it can contain splinters. While a high quality bed and mini fridge are provided, it is still a camping experience. Please wipe up any liquids that spill on the Oak hard wood floors. Do not burn the place down (no candles). Each cabin has several interior lights for illumination and plugs to charge devices. The pathways and exterior areas have low voltage landscape lighting. There is also a Blue Tooth speaker. Remember to wear sturdy shoes or hiking boots. The Cabin does not have a bathroom or kitchen. A common area, less than a minute walk away, has a clean and comfortable bathhouse as well as an outdoor kitchen.
