There are no issues with timing of parking. Other things to note The city of Ferndale was designated a state historical landmark (No. 883) in 1975 by the California State Parks Office of Historic Preservation. Ferndale's Main Street Historic District was established in 1994 by the National Park Service and placed on the National register of Historic Places. Ferndale's Main Street has been featured in several Hollywood films such as Outbreak featuring Dustin Hoffman Morgan Freeman and Rene Russo and The Majestic featuring Jim Carrey. Ferndale is also known for its own Ferndale Repertory Theater.
